Hello, sorry I do not have an answer or any help to this. But have a quick question regarding the Tech2. Is it able to program codes into the BCM? Long story short, my dad's 07 sierra has all the antennas, RPO codes and what not needed for remote start, but it didn't come with the code in the BCM, therefore, no remote start. I can purchase the code from GM, but nobody knows how to really get it into the BCM. Even the dealer is not positive. I am curious if I got a Tech2 if I could go in there and program that code into it to "unlock" the remote start feature. Thank you.

I hope you find the answer to this. I have remote start on my 13 Denali and I use it religiously. I will be turning to this thread if something ever happens to it. Great info here.

you "should" be able to add it, you would have to pay for the $45 techline connect sps programming, have a windows 10 pc/laptop and a mdi, not sure if the tech2 are still supported for programming via sps but maybe. but once you are able to program it you can reach out to techline support and request a "calibration file" to add auto-start.
that file will be specifically for your vin. that's the only way to get it. Otherwise chris at whites automotive could most likely do it as well.

Thank you so, so much. I really appreciate that! I have been researching the answers for a long time now. I COMPLETELY forgot about White's! That is probably going to be the route to go with it. It seems it is $199.99 to have one programmed. While I would love to do it myself. The cost of the code is from $100-$200. Then talking about getting a tech2, techline programming, mdi. That is definitely more than White's. I cannot thank you enough!
