    Well, we use it for boondocking (camping in our RV with no hookups), so the extra battery capacity could come in handy. I'm inclined to keep the secondary battery. The main decision I have to make is between AGM and conventional flooded lead acid batteries.

    Just confirmed that the batteries (it has dual batteries) are originals and now 6 years old. So I'm going to replace them soon. As near as I can tell, both batteries are size 94.     Check the valley plate bolts for tightness too - at least the ones you can reach. We've seen that gasket take a set too, and leak because the bolts no longer have anything to press against.

    I've put all kinds of stuff up there and never had any problems. But I did find that 2 bikes is about the weight limit for those bars without them cratering. I agree with Michael - make sure yours are factory and if so, watch the weight limit and send it.
