Rear Differential: 9.5" 14 bolt question

You won't like a sub rpm stall at all.. Stick with the stock 1600 or up... It will have so much idle creep in daily driving it'll wear on you. I accidentally ordered a 1600 once thinking I had an 1800 in it and it was awful. Remember, you have a lock up torque converter so the slip is non...

Rear Differential: 9.5" 14 bolt question

I actually have done nothing yet... Been bombarded with "life" !

    Won't move in 2wd

It's a new posi carrier with the bearings etc that go with it to install According to the info I have it's the G80 factory limited slip diff that is the weak point and when it lets go it sends its shrapnel thru the diff taking everything with it - kinda like the 6l80 torque converter clutch...

    Cat Back

Magnaflow has very nice sounding street exhausts... Check to see if they make one for your application. They quit making the "kit" for my denali, but I contacted them and they turned me on to one of their dealers that made the "kit" for me.. I haven't put it on yet, but I have magnaflows on...

Build thread - 3.08 to 3.42 front and rear gear change

Ah, Yeah ! Definitely would cause knock sensor with broken OEM mounts.. MikeZ71 Just had a long thread and successful fix that ended up being loose/missing motor mount bolts that caused "knock sensing"

Need opinions: 3.42 vs 3.73 GR

You'll want your 6l80 to have lock up at the appropriate throttle/load to keep your trans heat down. Nothing wrong with using lockup in 4th gear. (1-3 gears is dumb from gm)

Build thread - 3.08 to 3.42 front and rear gear change

I noticed zero knock sensor extra activity when I installed both H2 motor mounts... I did it like 3 years ago.. I still have my OE GM low mileage mounts in the boxes still !!!

Build thread - 3.08 to 3.42 front and rear gear change

According to my research the 8.6" 10 bolt rear and the 9.5" 12 bolt rear use the same rear driveshaft (and U joints). But Yeah, do it once... do it right !!

    Won't move in 2wd

I just haven't gotten the motivation to put in my 9.5" rear end out of a 2WD Yukon/Esky..... Yet... Or just beef up my G80 - I already have all those parts too... So many projects

    BOGGING BADLY! - SOLVED

Sounds like it ! That would cause some noise right at the engine block So the knock sensors would certainly pick it up and think its real knock

6l80 tcc slip tuning stock clutch

They also used the 6L90's in the cadillac ctv-s supercharged 6.2L They are supposed to hold a little more torque , hence 90 vs 80 I thought some parts were interchangeable on these and the size diff was like 1 inch or so... I've never physically touched a 90E I imagine the "tuning" programming...

    BOGGING BADLY! - SOLVED

Just to add to earlier post.. .58 g on the air mass pid is really not much. Idle is about .20 ish or less. Medium throttle is around the .50 ish and deep into the throttle is near .90 ++ Of course this is very general and what it would do running properly..

    Gas Mileage

My 14 has a 33 gallon fuel tank.. So even just in town I can get about 330 miles per tank depending on climate etc IDK how many gallons the OP's tank is... but that's crappy mileage IMO no matter what

    2014 Yukon slow acceleration

Check your starter/ flexplate. The starters on these will start to rattle badly but not cause a starting issue. This may be setting off the knock sensors. Check this for mikez71 as well on his problem

    BOGGING BADLY! - SOLVED

Your fuel trims are well within acceptable ranges... I think you've found your issue.. Cats are bad. Classic symptoms of cats that have come apart and clogged up the exhaust is my guess too

    2011 LTZ Tahoe towing question

I tow a lot heavier than this... But I've done the lower control arms, upgraded sway bars on the Yukon, and air bags in the rear springs. Mine tows very well. I use the equal-i-zer system for WD/ Sway. I've used a few diff WD hitches over the years on a couple other trucks.. This Equalizer...

    AFM

Disable the dang DOD and drive on. You will be doing what is possible electronically to extend the life of your cam/lifters. I can't see any reason it would affect the "oiling" system negatively in any way

    cam upgrade question

Thats the cam I have in my 6.2 It needs a bit of tuning as it changes the airflow model quite a bit.. I like it. It was the smallest VVT non-dod cam I could find as I use my Yuk to tow. It's a very good cam IMO. As far as the OP's Oil pressure... If his engine still has DOD or VVT he needs to...

Value question: OEM manifolds or shorty headers?

To me, Headers are better. Little bit lighter and oddly in my 6.2 spark plug access was a bit better. I still have my OE exhaust components in storage, but I never weighed them or anything. IDK if the 6.2 manifolds are the same part # as the 5.3 manifolds though

    Engine mount

Not that it helps with this thread... But Holy **** those Hummer motor mounts have gone UP in price.. I think I paid about $105 EACH when i did mine 4 years ago. Glad I got on this forum and got em in.. I still have my stock one.. They were fine, I was just upgrading and this forum helped out...

2010 Yukon Denali Overheating when Towing

This is exactly why I put a manually controlled Efan on my derale trans cooler. When towing at hwy speeds, the engine fans don't come on but my trans temps continued to climb. Now I can just flip my toggle switch to bring fresh air thru the derale trans cooler independent of air incoming to...

2010 Yukon Denali Overheating when Towing

My true GM replacement pump on mine from a few years ago has threads on the hub as well. I just left the plastic protector piece on it so I won't cut myself on it. The E fan strategies on these gen 4 gm900's kinda suck in my opinion. I'm sure it has to do with cafe or epa crap. At highway...
