TCC line pressure (vs load) causes TCC slip

I saw an article related to this topic It stated that the actual OE clutch material "require" some slip to lubricate it.. It's a wet style material.. I have set mine to Zero slip most of the time, but I have a stock core TQ built with a larger aftermarket clutch... I don't really know for sure...

2012 Tahoe front wheel bearing brand

Not at all. Was actually curious of how you would lubricate a sealed bearing,.... that's all... didn't know it was possible. I work on cars for a living and i've never heard of this procedure.. Didn't know it was sarcasm to begin with... A keyboard doesn't always convey the actual tone of a...

2012 Tahoe front wheel bearing brand

OH !! Yeah, never done that. Didn't think it was ever necessary.. Have you run into sealed new bearings that were "dry" ??? Because that would certainly suck !!!

How do you grease up a sealed bearing assembly?? I never have because I didn't know it was possible. Thanks

Is this a crazy idea to cool my 4L60E transmission?

Interesting theory.. But I don't think it will work very well as you can only cool down to the "coolants" temp once... but maybe IF you are towing frequently just add an aux trans cooler - air to air- AFTER the fluid exits the new radiator. You could use a factory one or any aftermarket one

    Short block purchase

Decent deal.. But that cam is gonna suck with stock torque converter and 3.08 gearing.. Pretty lumpy cam. Will require a good tuner. And it won't be in your rpm range 90% of the time on 5.3L For the money, you could still buy it and swap out the camshaft !

Radiator Fan stuck on Hi and A/C not working after batter disconnected 2014 Tahoe - Not Temp Sensor or Thermostat

It charges at "what it needs" ... So 14V is pretty darn normal. Really anything from 13-15V is acceptable as long as the battery is taking a charge and it starts normal

Radiator Fan stuck on Hi and A/C not working after batter disconnected 2014 Tahoe - Not Temp Sensor or Thermostat

I would bet that you have air in your coolant system. Get on flat ground or just point up hill a bit... Leave off your coolant pressure tank cap and let it idle with both heat settings to full hot and blower medium ish If it gets too hot, turn it off and let it puke and cool for a while...

    DOD / AFM delete parts

Even then, this greater movement is limited to light throttle applications where the cam is retarded to reduce manifold vacuum. By minimizing intake manifold vacuum, less negative work is done, which offers a slight benefit to fuel mileage. The "parked" or standard position for VVT engines is...

    DOD / AFM delete parts

To add: when you install a larger than stock VVT cam (especially with higher lift) you have to install a cam limiter so the VVT can't change the cam timing more than 20*, otherwise you'll kiss the valves to the pistons since these engines have a pretty tight PTV clearance anyway... Lot diff...

    DOD / AFM delete parts

I repectfully disagree.. and maybe there's something I don't know... But the VVT tables from GM are set up ONLY to retard cam timing... Not able to advance. That's why they use a tiny cam and then add it some cam retard up at the top rpm to make it "act" like a larger cam... Retarding a cam at...

    Towing stability

Hitches etc are wight rated WITH or WITHOUT weight distribution hitches. So you need to look at both... To me, anything you tow that's over 4K or 400 lb tongue weight SHOULD be towed using a weight dist system hitch... It's much safer, easier to drive and a helluva lot easier and your truck

    DOD / AFM delete parts

The VVT Tuning is no big deal... If your VVT cam is "bigger" then yes, you will need to install a limiter at time of install - not a big deal.. And VVT is most active in the mid rpm range from the factory... It reduces reversion in the intake manifold and gives better MPG... Not really a...

P0796 and others, while 59 miles from home

Motor mounts are seperate from trans install... You've got quite the list.. Prob just wait on those. I highly doubt that they will honor any warranty with an aftermarket HP High Stall Torque Converter.. 3200 stall (from what I read) is a really high stall for a 6k lb truck. It will create way...

07-14 Engine Hours to Mileage Comparisons

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

Any "Stage 3" cam belongs in a lighter weight car.. Not a truck.. And unless you are going with a 2800 stall, it won't work at all.. I'm sure someone has made it work, just not a true daily commuter suv Also, if the cam bearing surface is damaged like you show it's very likely that your cam...

Right front wheel protrudes further than left?

I would just put it on an alignment rack and take measurements 1/4" is really not that bad as long as tire wear etc is good. It could just be that your aftermarket wheels are a bit off or the difference in tire sizes from OE are giving you the "scrub" concerning you Or that when brakes or...

Need help with identifying a part on the back of cylinder heads.

Just block em off like GM did on our rigs I did go down the rabbit hole as I did the 4 corner on my C5 Vette Our trucks have a better "angle" for the engine vs the pass cars so it's not really "needed" ... Of course the 4 corner is better, but not necessary like it is in the cars LS engines
