In all the fun, I ran into the same problems @iamdub did. Upper ear on the frame-side of the panhard mount hit the chassis. It has now been “corrected” My sway bar is also touching the axle-side of the panhard mount, albeit just barely. I’ll have to have a welder friend rectify that for me.

If you can ship them for less than that, you can have both of them :) always happy to fund your research broski!

All the cutting, grinding, and painting is done :) Just throwing it back together and measuring today.

Here I was in the middle of cutting. You can see where I chopped it up the center to allow it to bend downward.

Yup! 4” diamond cutting wheel for the outboard and sides, then sliced it up the middle. Used a 40” pry bar to pull the whole thing down then switched to a 7” diamond cutting wheel and let ‘er eat!

I did the same; I adjusted it so that each section was in its “middle” when seated currently. I’ll finish adjusting tomorrow, and I have another alignment scheduled for Tuesday morning for the front control arms.

The driver side was exponentially more difficult than the passenger side, because of the damn gas tank. I got around it by using a 40” pry bar and a 7” cutoff disk, but it was still a bear trying to not cut into the tank. I still nicked it with the cutoff wheel, you can probably see it if you...

I take back my previous reply. I can……with the axle dropped 8” :anitoof: I absolutely would not be able to adjust them in the current configuration, with the truck on a drive-on rack.

That’s why I paid what I did for this one. It’s SUPER clean. I actually just took those pics when I posted them, just for you  I freakin love this low-profile long-reach. Worth every penny. That, sir, is a Harbor Freight bucket I KNOW, OKAY :boxed:

I just came here to say, “FORK this free travel mod”. What a pain in the absolute ass. I got one side done today, and the Spohn kit installed. I’ll knock out the other side in the morning!

Well, I promised you an update when I got the viking stuff installed. I'm REALLY impressed with the ride quality of the fronts (the more important axle). They ride a lot like the OE air ride in that there is compression, but not an overstroke of rebound causing that bouncy feeling. It's...

The 24's make them look like chit on their own :rotflmao: I'd like to do the ZR1 brake swap, but after spending all this money on the suspension, the wife may actually bury me if I spend $2k on brakes.

Got myself a free claybar job today! While at work, some idiot contractor decided to paint the light poles on a windy day, blowing overspray on 300+ cars. A company called National Overspray Removal reached out to me, as they were contracted by Boeing to have the problem rectified! I figured...

You, sir, are a madman. I don't believe that they DO maintain the proper pinion angle. I actually don't think that's possible. I'll let you know Saturday whether my angle is <3-degrees or not. That's wild...I was raised calling them crawdaddy's. What area are you in? Closer to nawlens?

Unfortunately, there would have to be fixed lengths for each drop length, and even then they wouldn't be accurate because some company's 5" drop isn't a 5" drop, etc. And for you, there would be no premade option available because nobody else had the balls to drop a NNBS 8" static :rotflmao:

REAMER!? I hardly KNOW'ER! Not gonna lie...I laughed out loud pretty damn hard at that :rotflmao: Ball is definitely a tiny lil town. My favorite place there is the liquor store, Ball Liquor (say it out loud). My uncle Michael still lives there. The other 3 Lynch boys moved to STL when they...

That'll do it. i think I just tightened mine with a 3/8 ratchet and some oomphs. I did put a split-ring washer on it, though, and it still rattled loose. Can't wait to put these damn arms on Saturday afternoon.

Now...a specialized reamer size I may be able to help you out with :angels25: Definitely use a reamer, not a drill bit. Half a turn is NOT going to be as precise as you think for setting pinion angle. We're talking tenths of a degree here. We can all share. That's fine. :Get him!: I got family...
