I can't believe your rear end isn't thrown way off, side-to-side.

    The KidWagon

Holy crap. You’re dropped 5 rear with the stock track bar?!

Do you have the rear end centered fore-to-aft? I used Spohn adjustable upper and lower control arms to do so.

I'm not following what you're saying, but I'm also short on sleep and attention span lately. Do you mean the rear axle tube bottoming out? Mine is the frame hitting the axle pad lol Also, what's your hub-center to fender measure at?

Oh it does :rotflmao: My fender to hubs are currently: FL: 17.5 FR: 17.5 RL: 17.5 RR:17.625 1/4 tank of fuel

Almost done gutting the Subaru in the garage...and then I can finally get the Tayhoe in the garage and so some much needed work. 24's need to get powder coated, new tires on them, and then I'm coming down another inch in the front and rear, once I get the RF wheel jut figured out. EDIT: OH! And...

It’s been a week. I’ve yet to see 170° on the trans temp, and the ambient temps here have been mid 90’s. Photo is after my 21 mile drive to work, ROMPING on it, trying to see how hot I could get it. I think it’s safe to say it works! It almost works too well. I think I’d have been okay with a...

Been toying with how short of gears I want, so I made a little Excel sheet. I'm really thinking 4.11 is going to be the way to go. First gear is going to be a tire-fryer, but that's okay with me :rocking: With a 32.1" tall tire (285/45r22), that puts 70 mph in 6th gear at 2018 RPM With a 30.7"...

Found it! It is almost literally half the size. Wow. Not quite the same BTU (37,000 vs 45,000), but I’d imagine that unless you’re towing HEAVY, it likely won’t make a difference. Seeing that my TruCool is dropping me down to 160 at the peak, I think I could actually get away with the 10-row...

Which Derale do you have? The only 2 I see on their site are rated for 14,000 BTU. The TruCool 40k is rated for 45,000 BTU https://derale.com/product-footer/fluid-coolers/remote-mount-cooers/electra-cool/trans-cooler-kits-1

A higher stall, by nature, generates more heat as it slips. You have the benefit of a 6.2 and shorter gearing to help keep the trans from up and down shifting so much. My truck didn’t have the auxiliary cooler at all, just the version that is integrated with the radiator. A stacked plate...

What gears are in yours, how do you drive, and what stall do you have? I have a 3200 circle d stall in a brand new transmission, with a new filter and Amsoil fluid, with 3.08 gears. The 308’s create a LOT of downshifting.

Water begins to evaporate more quickly around 150°F. Boiling point is obviously 212°F, but you’ll see steam much before this, even heating water on the stove. A quick galavant down the highway one exit and back (romping on it) showed me 153° with an ambient temp of 95°. I think I’ll be okay.

That’s my problem, too. 200° is easily achieved with the stock “cooler”, and why I’m choosing to bypass it. I hit 223° the other day, and it was only 85° ambient. Hoping this will keep me in the 180° range while I drive it like a Corvette Part of my issue is the 3.08’s, which means it’s...

Right right, I guess I replied a bit loosely. I’m planning on just using the rubber line for now, until I swap to 6an with the thermostatic outlet.

Just because I asked for your input, that doesn’t mean that I automatically have to agree with your reasoning. The radiator cooler’s job is to warm the fluid; our transmissions obviously have no problem warming the fluid, and here in the Midwest we spend little time below 32°, as you know. This...

Not terribly concerned with reusing the factory lines since I’ll be switching to 6an lines toward the end of the year

I’m not concerned with getting it up to temp. It will be 85°+ here for the next 6 months. By the time late fall comes around, I’ll install that thermostatic outlet I posted with 6an lines.

Did you boys plumb your 40k inline with your radiator-cooler, or just eliminate the radiator loop all together?

TruCool 40K is going on tomorrow. I'll be doing one of these later in the year with 6AN lines from trans to cooler, to make sure the trans gets up to temp on my 25 min drive to work. Currently I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to sell my wife the idea that I definitely need 4.11 gears now...
