Slow Crank When Engine Hot: Replace Battery Cables?

Has anyone tried a voltage drop test while cranking cold and then hot? That will tell you immediately if a cable is bad. Also, even if the cable is discontinued, you can have them made. Just get 1/0 wire with the correct solder on ends and you are back in business.

    2005 XL Rust Repair?

That is an option, as long as the drivetrain will come out without needing a lot of parts due to rust. But, in theory, a good clean body with all the plumbing attached would mate up really nice to an engine and trans. It would be a lot less stress than fixing rust.......forever. And much...

Passenger side water leak under dash?

The HVAC system can leak when the water is condensed out of the air. Check the vent on the firewall by the accumulator. It's a little black dingus somewhere in that vicinity. The other problem could be leaky components inside the truck. I had this happen on the one POS 2009 Denali I bought...

    2005 XL Rust Repair?

I'd look down south for the same model and start with good bones. Rust is a never ending PITA

    08 Tahoe Vibration - SOLVED

Buy 2 new u-joints from an autonparts store and do it yourself. Or, take it to a DIFFERENT shop and have them inspect the rear driveshaft and u-joints. I put my money on the pinion one being toast and stiff as a board. Your GM dealership is pathetic......sorry to say. They milked you for...

    Possible TCC Failure

Probably 6 quarts. Luckily with a dipstick, you can start with 4 and move up. Or, just drain it into a container of known capacity and estimate what came out and use that as a baseline.

    Rear leaf spring mount

@OBS_Alex Can you reference the above thread and maybe post up some pics and dimensions from your rig to chime in. Thanks!

    Rear leaf spring mount

It's been awhile since I was under one, but I don't think there's a dimension difference, just a spring rate difference with suburban being the highest load rating in that era. I don't think GM would make one model specific leafs. Same for the 1/2 ton trucks of the era. Think of a 2 door...

SOLVED: ESC - Magnaride default values, Adjustable?

You are the first person I know of that bought aftermarket Z95 products and they actually work(?) Does the real time data jive as well? If so, them maybe the replacement for these is actually becoming affordable .......20 years later.

That's cool stuff. It would be awesome to pull the files off with HP Tuner to compare to stock files.

Looking to buy a work truck. Need expert assistance.

Depends on where you buy it and how it was maintained. I've had good luck buying around 140k while verifying the maintenance records. If it's had good maintenance, some big ticket items have been replaced, etc then I feel good about it. I know that I'll have to put a few hubdred to maybe...

    Won't move in 2wd

You probably done have any spider gears left in the rear diff. I encountered that once as a tech 22 years ago on a S-10. Dude mud bogged the shit out of it and had the same result you speak of. Also, since it was empty, you might was well find a bone yard axle to put in. Don't even mess with...

    Hello from Finland

2021 GMC Yukon Denali Oil Burn

If I were in your shoes (collectively), I would stop using that piss water equivalent of 0w-20 oil and put in 5w-30. 0w-20 is a CAFE gimmick to eeeekkkkkk out a minute amount of mpg on EPA testing. Run an oil designed for heavier use. 5w-30 has been the staple since around 2000, so why change...

    2017 Yukon Denali Rough Ride

Your front struts are probably shot. I'm on set number 2 on my 2017 Denali. First went at 80k, second at 152k. Now I have the lifetime GM warranty so they will be free at 225k. It rode like shit when the RF puked all the oil out. If it bounces even more than 1 time from a manual persuasion...

    2007 yukon denali oil leak

Yes, all the LS (4.8, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2) motors use the same style plate and seal assembly I believe.

    2007 yukon denali oil leak

It's probably the rear housing plate gasket that holds the RMS. It'll leak higher up and drain down. Lived with mine for 40k, then pulled the trans and replaced the cover. The seal was dry, the cover gasket gets stiff and compressed.

    2003 Oldsmobile Alero

I don't have any diagrams, but have you tried removing the aftermarket radio and just leaving the wires unhooked? If you think it may be the culprit, maybe removing it will help the process.

How many miles are too many for you when you buy used?

Good points @Marky Dissod and @steiny93 Another metric I use is the engine mileage divided by the engine hours for an average MPH. If it equates to 35 or better, then I'm usually confident that it was on the road moving more than stopped. When you see 20's or less, then it was probably a...

How many quarts does a 2011 Yukon Denali 6.2 need? Getting mixed answers.

6 quarts. Oil dropped and filter changed. Been this way for almost 20 years.

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Changed the oil. My wife can DRIVE! It seems like I just changed (because I probably did). 155k and still moving along. This girl will never be a low mile garage queen......we are way past that. Now it's the 'how many miles can we put on it' game.

2008 Chevrolet Tahoe gas keeps clicking off every few seconds.

Or the purge solenoid takes a dump. It's right under the hood, LH (driver) side of motor by intake. Pull off and blow through it powered off, it should be closed. Then apply 12v to it and see if you can blow through it. If it's bad, use only GM OE parts, or you'll get the joy of doing it twice

Unable to open drivers door. Please Help!

Ditto on the warranty. Let them figure it out. As for the DIY door stuff, I ALWAYS close the latch with a pen or screw driver after having the door panel off, replacing a handle, etc. You can make sure it works before getting yourself into a pickle
