look for shock mount bushing - Moog has them. a bit of a pain. remove the shock, and get a bushing press in there to remove and install. I think you will have to experiment a bit. I've not done this, but I'm now going to look at mine this weekend
I say that Safelite guy does not know what he is talking about. what you are showing looks like every other car I've seen. Is that a 3/4 Ton, XL? I had Safelite replace glass in an 01 1/2 ton, and now have a 3/4 Ton XL. the 3/4 also leaks air ( lower left corner ). Another thing to track down.
Check the battery cables for corrosion. If you have pictures of the cable connections to show us, that would be helpful. I know some folks have had good experience with Delco Batteries, I have not. If you have a Costco Membership, their prices on Interstate Batteries are very good - 1...
2012 - you should look at the 2012 Tahoe/Yukon Forum as well. The issues you are seeing don't come up as often in the older trucks - less electronics. Not sure where you live ( NorthEast, South, etc ), but you need to check the grounds for good contact, and look for any water intrusion -...
My own rules - both with the 01 1500 ( 270K, no issues ) - Auto trac when it is raining, or snow and slippery and on the highway - press the button, never an issue. I switch back to 2WD as soon as it is not slippery - also I try not to do either switching when accelerating. 4W Hi - Deep snow...
How's that going? I had a Die Hard die in a BMW - 11 months - **** ( not bought by me, but based on the date codes, it was new - went Interstate AGM, and it's been good.
Which battery do you have? If it is Delco, I would be wary. I had so much trouble years ago, and from what I read, they are not better. The 02 XL 2500 has a new Interstate, and good since I got it in April. I had 3 Optimas in 19 years ( still have the third one - in different car now )...
you need a bit more info than that. Reading about this - do you have an OE AC Delco Battery? I moved away from these back in 2003 with the 1500 XL - they died fast - but it seems that the acid leak that ruins the cables starts with the battery. I can believe it. I ran an Optima from late...
That would be a non starter for me. I've done longer distance buys ( I am in NY, and bought as far away as Virginia ( 400+ Miles ). Indiana is not a state I would get a car from without being able to see it. I left a 10% deposit, and paid the balance when I went and picked it up myself. This...
Yeah, I know that the studs can be an issue. in the 21 years, and 270K that I had the 5.3, that was the only broken stud issue I had. I now have a 6.0, and I will likely upgrade the studs before the winter.
Ok - so you changed the Themostat - how is the fan clutch. I went 270K on my 01 XL 5.3 - overheating is not a problem in general. Bleeding is also not difficult on that setup. If you can, park it nose up, heat on full, and turn it on. see where the coolant settles to. You should have a low...
Nope. Don't do it. Karma will find a way to bite you on that. Any T800 is not so rare to necessitate this. You have no idea what the possible downstream impacts of this are ( like a traffic or parking ticket that morphs into a huge mess ).
