    Need new 6.2 L86 Engine...but indefinite backorder???

Find a good machine shop, and have them put new piston liners in, plane the deck, multi angle the heads, and replace the cam bearings, then have a engine shop build it out for you. With new piston liners, you can put in stock size pistons, just a matter of the crank at that point.

    Need new 6.2 L86 Engine...but indefinite backorder???

What I am seeing is a lot of Backordered, or more concerning, Discontinued, for 2017 Escalade Engine Assembly Long Block.. The odd part is they are giving the same part number for both Flex and Non-Flex.. Which I dont think is correct...

    6.5 Turbo Diesel

I had a 95 Silverado N/A Diesel. Thing was a beast. 19mpg. Still kinda wish I had it, but now I would need more seats. Wife begged me not to get rid of it.. But it had to go, I lost my job back in the obummer recession.

I would suggest going to a salvage yard, and just cutting off a pig tail with all the wiring. Then you can Solder/Heat Shrink it back together for a factory radio wiring harness. At the end of the day, its much safer.

Wife wants a smaller GM SUV, what's good and what should we stay away from?

    I would take a GMT360 over a Acadia/Traverse/Enclave. I HATE those 3.6HF engines. But good point.

ABS engages at low speed, sensors replaced, what to try next?

As a rule of thumb, I never replace a ABS sensor if a new hub bearing comes with the sensor. Which generally speaking, they all do now.

ABS engages at low speed, sensors replaced, what to try next?

This is a tough one to diagnose without a high end scanner. You have to plug a scanner in, and look at the wheel speeds of each wheel. You will likely see one drop out. Thats going to be the bad one. I had this issue on my GMC. For me it was the right front wheel speed sensor. Replaced the...

Totaled '03 Z71, already bought another

What state is this? Its easy to get a rebuilt title in nearly all states except for New York/Jersey. And even if they do issue a salvage, usually you can just got to the neighboring state, and get it done there. I agree, that black one did not look totaled. Right around 2000 for me to rebuild...

    My dream just died

I cant answer to why they, State Farm, did it, I just know they did it. Its the 3rd time I have done it. 1st time they did require a Appraisal (McLaren). But not the last 2 (Aztek and Skylark), they just wanted the web links to the comparibles that I had found, and around 2 weeks later, they...

    My dream just died

As said above.. They offered $800. Showed them comparibles, and got $5500. Not a small difference.

    My dream just died

Its rebuildable... But at what cost.. :grumpycat: There are others out there, lower miles, different options/colors/materials, etc. I rebuild cars in my spare time, and I wouldnt touch it.. I dont do frame work. Time for a Yukon Denali, or Esky maybe.. :peace: Thats not always the case. One...

Toyota, up to 2012, was a basterdized GM, except for the full size trucks. Where do you think the 2mode hybrid system was borrowed from in collaboration with Dodge. Then theres the Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe Geo Prism/Toyota Camry and Corolla (depends on year) etc... I was so confused on the...

    Heated/Cooled Cupholders

This is the 04-06 What makes them special is the panel above the cup holder. The platinum's were the first ones to get heated and cooled seats. These are the ones from the 2007-2013
