    The OnStar would not be on the steering wheel.. Either on the dash, next to the radio, or on the rear view mirror. Rear View Mirror Dash mount next to radio Another way to tell is to look for the Microphone on the overhead console. (pic also shows the OnStar rearview mirror)

    Not disagreeing, but my 2 local GM dealers are seeing a 4-9% failure rate. Both dealers have a dedicated commercial department as well. I think that me being in farm, and oil drilling, country is why it might be a higher %.

    Z71 2 wheel drive??? Thats like an OxyMoron Back on topic... I always recommend to use whats local to you. An alternator will eventually go out again. If the parts store is local to you, its easier to get a replacement. I have had good luck with Oriellys and AZ.
