Air bubbles in the coolant reservoir

Given the evidence of bearing damage from the report, I'm not sure I'd put that effort into the engine.

    Coolant Loss

Cracked heads are more common than head gaskets, unfortunately. Take a look at post 31 especially: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/latest-oil-change-oil-filters.99646/

    4 Lo/Hi Mod

Shoot, I keep thinking 4 Hi/ Lo in the transfer case. This is for the headlights. Did you check the wiring connections?

    Heater Hose Blew Out

I've never had leaks from the OEM spring style clamps. However, I have had leaks from the screw type clamps, leaks when cracked nylon fittings, thermostat housing gasket leaks, etc. The OEM style spring hose clamps seem to hold up well. Don't forget, the spring style clamps maintain...

    Center console shifter

Why go half way? I wanna see a manual shifter for the transfer case too! (I know, needs the manual transfer case for this...)

    Heater Hose Blew Out

Sorry, I'm a bit late to the party, but I discovered that the straight ends should come off fairly easily from the heater core pipes. See Post # 17: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/heater-hose-quick-connects.111631/page-2

    Dome Lights

Silly question', but I've done this more than once. Is the rotary dimmer in the "on" position?

Looking for suggestions to get smoke smell out of the vents 2003 Tahoe

I managed to get rid of some old smells, but it took some effort. 1) Remove all seats, perhaps even carpeting to change the underlay. 2) Get a small handpump garden sprayer and fill it with a carpet cleaner with deodorizer. Soak all fabric and carpet areas. 3) Use a wet dry vacuum to remove...

    Well Hell Just Froze Over

212000 miles on a 4L60e 2002 Tahoe and still going. My dad's 1997 Tahoe lost reverse. Apparently it was a broken sun shell. If you do not come to a complete stop and go directly into reverse, that can cause it to snap. Sounds weak, and it probably is, but if you always come to a complete...

    At home alternator rebuild?

For me, because I'm not familiar with what parts should be replaced, and what parts are junk and should never be used, the kit from Rebuilderinabox has been useful. They may not be top quality parts, but both alternators that I rebuilt lasted the remaining life of the cars I put them in which...

    At home alternator rebuild?

We had an alternator rebuilt at a local supposedly reputable shop. They only replaced the worn out parts, not the 1/2 worn out parts, so the alternator broke down a year later. And it wasn't cheap either, it was over a hundred bucks Cdn.

    At home alternator rebuild?

Steve, I've used Rebuilderinabox several times. They're very helpful, and it's actually not that confusing after you ask a few questions.

    Steering gear box leak

I'm wondering if the steering box was adjusted too tight during the remanufacturing. I remember hearing that the recirculating ball system is designed to be slightly looser at center, and tighter at the ends of a turn. This is, in part, what helps return the steering to center.

Changing Transmission Filter (First Time Ever)

Changing fluid and filter only will change out only half the fluid, so it won't be a "shock" to the transmission. If it fails after a pan drop, it was probably about to fail anyway.

    Rear Main Oil Seal Replacement

Here was my timeline: 10 days, not as bad as I thought. It felt like more. I wasn't working 8 hour days, but it did take me much longer than most guys. I'm guessing about 50 hours for me. If I had a thread chaser to clean the rear cover bolts, that would have saved 3 hours at least. Not...

    Rear Main Oil Seal Replacement

Okay, you guys have helped me out tons with stuff. Maybe this will help newbies. As others have said before, removing a transmission is just LOT of work. None of it is particularly hard. This comes with a couple of caveats though: 1) Get a good low profile transmission jack and test it out...

Rear seating has poor design for legs

I love having the 2nd row bench. Most times we don't need the third row, but sometimes we use the midde spot. The 2021 Tahoe should solve most of the space problems too. But I'm not willing to give up a 2nd row bench.

If you already have the stock cooler, do the OEM lines hook directly up to this cooler?

2003 Yukon SLT 4 Wheel Drive Evap Issue

I do remember hearing from one guy that he found ACDelco purge valves defective from the start. it may be worth checking it to make sure it holds vacuum. I agree though, it's probably something else. Do you know anyone with a smoke machine?

2003 Yukon SLT 4 Wheel Drive Evap Issue

It's good to get the code, and do some diagnosis. However, the purge control valve is a common failure point and is easy to test:

    Rear Main Oil Seal

Well, the last bolt in, the last drop in. I always have severe anxiety when starting the a vehicle for the first time after major surgery. Even when my dad worked on cars, when it came time to turn the engine over, I'd stand there as a 10 year old kid waiting for the whole thing to explode...

    Rear Main Oil Seal

Thanks John, This is another reason I believe my case has been opened before. I have over 300000km (about 190000 miles). This case probably should have sprung a leak already. Shipping would be extraordinarily expensive to get into Canada. Thanks for the offer though!

    Rear Main Oil Seal

Mine was fine. I had a tiny amount (1/2 cup) in the junction between the adapter and T-case. My T-case fluid was a nice blue.

Rear seating has poor design for legs

I made a summary of the year to year changes here: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/model-changes-leading-up-to-2021.118575/ I didn't put in the 3rd row, but I do have the 2nd row leg and head room. Head room didn't change much over the years, all within an inch. I wouldn't expect head...
