slapped on a quick tape line just to get a visual in person
these are my latest photoshop/mockups of where it's going.
Not sure how i am going to do the split line just yet, but everything else is pretty much set in stone. The top looks flat in these mockups, but it will be clear coated...
haha, it sure is. this is why people rarely paint vehicles and why it costs so much to get a paint job. it's just all this pain in the a$$ prepping. The spraying part is fun as hell. The rest just sucks. Half of this stuff i was like, meh, i'll just tape it off. but if it came off easily enough...
nothing to see here, just a bunch of prep/sanding pics
my 43 year old body and arms are sore as hell, haha
i just laid on the roof and took my time laying in the water as i sanded away
took off all the black plastics on the bumper.
just in case anyone is wondering how to remove these...
yeah, great job on the wrapping. MY buddy just did some on his mustang and it wasnt easy for a first timer. i actually like the appliques black. Makes it look like the glass wraps around. I used to work for so many auto glass companies. They all fight for business, most even give you cash back...
yeah these things can sure eat up the money! but its much cheaper than upgrading Real cars haha. Yeah he's a great kid and uses them all the time. One day i will surely get the bug again. Sucks when you get gas or something as big as 1/5 you have to travel to find a place where you have room and...
Nice post!
that puppy flies! I have never owned a 1/5th scale. But i have had a lot over the years. Back in the 80's i had Tamiya "The Hornet" and Team Associated Rc-10's etc.. Then i got into gas powered 2 speeds. That thing was fun. But one wrong turn would be a co$tly one. haha. My last house...
Well i started on the roof last night. Removed the esky roof rack. was going to start scuffing. But......
then i felt the sky glowing behind me
and i had to race out and capture a sunset..
Guess she'll have to wait till this weekend for more progress.
She is getting uglier and uglier...
unless you wanted it to shine there is really no need for clear. SEM is durable as hell
hook it up man! its fairly easy. the wiring was the only thing that slowed me down
you mean like the stalk? make it blackwood?
Thanks. The SEM holds up great if you prep correctly. I had it on my OBS and all over my Lexus which i owned for like 6 years in AZ heat. Never chipped or wore through.
Also, i personally prefer the NNBS with the stitch facing. It proves that its leather to the eye. Otherwise it might as well...
confusing at first. i had to ask Rocket Man which wires. The NBS is just 2 white wires. The NNBS i2 2 white and 2 black. Just the 2 whites get soldered together. Once i knew that it was easy
it does! ...BUT!
it is a little longer, so it seems to come down further when you are in drive, feels...
NBS to NNBS '09 Escalade Leather Shifter Swap
First things first.
1. Thanks to @Tonyrodz for tracking down a NNBS shifter for me. I ended up buying that dark brown one you found.
2. Thanks to @Rocket Man for helping me sort out the wiring. The NNBS had 4 wires (2 black and 2 white) whereas the...
haha, thanks. and i never been a fan of them either. i guess i spend a lot of time on my driveway drinking beer and staring at my cars contemplating ideas. doesnt always work. the spikes just go with that sharp star shape in the center of the wheel to me.
Beer is the magic potion :)
yeah, yours are more of a smooth wheel, i get it.
it's nice to not need two different wheel keys. But you gotta be careful washing your wheels with these medievil hand cutters protruding.
