NBS to NNBS '09 Escalade Leather Shifter Swap
First things first.
1. Thanks to @Tonyrodz for tracking down a NNBS shifter for me. I ended up buying that dark brown one you found.
2. Thanks to @Rocket Man for helping me sort out the wiring. The NNBS had 4 wires (2 black and 2 white) whereas the NBS had only 2 wires (both white) so i was confused. He let me know i only needed the 2 whites and that polarity shouldn't matter, so i soldered those two together and everything went great.
Pics!
Here's what we started with.

it's amazing how many years of nasty DNA was embeded into this thing once i got to cleaning it. If you want a color of leather that hides dirt, get dark brown. I used mean green to clean it, then i very gently ran a lil sand paper on the leather to wake up the pores then cleaned it lightly with alcohol so the paint will adhere and then taped her up.
sidenote: when i was at the paint shop they had a huge rack of SEM and i took the whole color pallette outside to my truck and found the best match for Pewter grey leather. It's 17163 MED DK PEWTER (in case anyone needs to know)

i sprayed about 5-6 coats, waiting about 15-30 minutes in between each coat. (this is one of the most often used things you will touch on your truck so i wanted to make sure she would last.

Then i looked at it, and thought it would be good to do the Tow button too.

after SEM / Paint

To install it i took the 2 phillips screws out from the lower plastic panel then separated them to get access. Used a T-30 Torx to to remove the one screw holding it on and then I cut the wire and spliced them with Mark's advice.
Just to show you, the Tow button works![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

But then i tried to get everything snugged back together but the shift boot was giving me a headache. Then i compared the two and the NBS boot is smaller as you can see. Once i swapped the old boot to the new lever it all snugged up nice.
