Opened up the flexplate cover and inspected. Looks fine. Just a little surface rust here and there. Not sure how to rotate it. Look like I have to take a cover off? Not the whole transmission pan though right?
My flexplate cover, not sure what to do next.
My car drives fine I think..? No coded, then them awkward shifts that only seem to be an issue when the transmission sits longer than half a day and when the transmission is cold.
The exhaust leak might be that loss of power im feeling? Idk. Maybe it just me. I’m kind of **** retentive about my...
So could a laggy-starter, or my starter not always catching be a sign of a bad flex plate ? It always starts right up but sometimes the last few cranks will kinda slip and roll over if you that makes sense. Still starts tho
It actually gets a little more loud and pronounced if I put it in park. In drive it’s not really noticeable. And I can kinda hear it matching the rpms when just cruising down the boulevard and i pass a building for example. Or sitting in the drive thru in park I can really hear it sometimes too...
So you’re saying you have a tick like me?
And I’ll add that I’ve heard many noises, but none are consistent, and they have all come and gone.
I’ve had one really rough shift in first gear and that was when it was really cold out and I just took off from cold start
Any transmission or...
Bc if it’s not even covering anything like you had mentioned, ( the broken stud)
Then what would be making noise? Hopefully not flexplate.
Also, is there anything I should be concerned about when taking off that plug? Can I break anything if I’m not careful?
The noise actually comes from the opposite side of the broken stud, under the car and comes towards the middle under the car vs the top side of the engine bay where the stud is actually broken, no noise from that area.
So dealership didn’t do the diagnosis, I went to two different local mechanics and one took a ride with me and didn’t use any computer. Just rode along and said nothings wrong. And second mechanic claimed he drove around in it and it felt fine…. And about the stud. So if it doesn’t cover any...
I will do that clamp some time when I get acess to a 3 ton Jack and some stands. Reliable Jacks aren’t cheap. Lately just haven’t had money to throw at my car.
Not at the dealership but at the local mechanic I paid for a transmission diagnosis. The dealership did diagnose my “exhaust tick” and about the local mechanic, I don’t think he even actually pulled it for the $50 fee. Bc how do you diagnose the trans without taking it apart. It doesn’t throw...
It’s like it’s coming from the torque converter or bottom bellhouse area. It’s a consistent tap. I’m getting scared cause the dealership said an exhaust leak.

I heard This water sloshing around this morning, Been raining pretty good last few days. Heard it when I stopped at a stop sign today.
I read that the water is supposed to drain through the door panels but wouldn’t that cause rust inside the door panel?
I have leak that appears to be coming from under the right side somewhere by the car or something. Can’t really find where noise is even with stethoscope. Somewhere by the passenger cat.
the stud that’s broken though is the drivers side rear stud. Doesn’t seem to be leaking much. Maybe a small...
