I believe it presses on. Did the bracket this presses on get bent when the old one got knocked off? Take a look at the other seat for reference points.
@915_Tahoe may know the part number. He’ll need your VIN. Another option it to get the shock and have a local shop with a spring compressor swap in the new one.
I’d investigate the bumper paint issue. Have a body shop confirm it’s been painted. Like the rear shock there’s no reason to repaint a fairly new rig and rock chip repair wouldn’t need that much paint.
I’m sure you checked but I didn’t notice where you looked for damp carpet? Otherwise the pressure check is the way to go. It’ll show the leak. Hopefully in a place that’s easy to see and get to.
Not sure if your rig has guide pins? I have the next gen from yours. I had the same problem after new hardware. My pins were new and I greased them correctly but my right front kept dragging. It took me 3 tries to get it right. Very frustrating but all good now.
Welcome to the forum from Virginia. If you hold the seat forward or back button while moving the wires you described it may move far enough to get it out. If not use the button to raise the front or back up. Mine got stuck in the forward position. It took a little doing but I got it out. My...
Welcome to the forum from Virginia. Do you already have power seats? If not that’ll add to your task. Adding heat on top of that is another wrinkle. Have you looked into new seat covers? I added an aftermarket seat warmer to my wife’s car a while back and it worked really well. If you go that...
Welcome to the forum from Virginia. Is the actual lock knob/button sticking or out of alignment?Sometimes they get twisted and won’t go in the recess straight.
Good points. I’ll measure it this time. She’s due for an oil change. After I pull the scrubber out there’s enough to coat the bottom of the can. I’d guess an ounce or so. Big Mama doesn’t have AFM so it sounds like she’s doing ok. For giggles I’ll add one to the Sierra I got in January. It has...
Great topic. Other than Joe’s post I didn’t see much about how much “oil” is being seen between oil changes. And, is that a good measure of if it actually working well given the different configurations. I also have the Amazon can but it’s a fancy anodized blue and has a dipstick.
