Funny, was just telling my buddy today that I planned on buying the skycamp before covid hit. I did a lot of research and landed the same conclusion... its on the list for next winter depending on covid stuff (need my parents back from FL to watch the kiddos so the wife and I can escape once...
Lithium grease is actually bad for the hinges. It captures debris and increases friction over time.
AMP recommends only using silicone spray lubricant on their hinges.
I had an issue with one of mine binding. I think I rushed the install, so I took my time and made sure I following the...
Not BMX but we do XC racing. My son was really looking forward to this season... i'm hoping they have the races in the fall if events are cancelled through the summer. June is our heavy hitter with races every weekend, and I don't see it happening this year sans some miracle.
Earlier model year but they make them for yours as well. Rhino Rack Vortex and XXL Thule box.
This gets loaded up with race gear just about every weekend April through July.
Didnt get the Deavers
The 3"blocks were tall enough. And we ended up buying a home quite a bit over budget which in turn put the travel trailer purchase on hold, so no heavy towing duties yet
You said you read my build. Pay close attention to the trimming methods I used (and part numbers for the brackets). I had to trim quite a bit for "small" 35s with 5.5" lift and moderate 0mm offset wheels. But I did it in a way that's nearly invisible to an untrained eye.
Highly recommend...
Search for 2009. Most kits are shown as fitting up through 2010 because the 2500 series trucks changed suspension designs in 2011, however the 2500 series SUVs stayed the same until their last model year of 2013.
I personally like the Cognito NTBD kit. It has the shortest track width increase...
Yeah in my case my garage was already built when I bought my house. Found the plans and its 4" concrete. The roof trusses will only allow me to lift a tall SUV a few feet.... wont be doing any tranny swaps.
So for my situation I'm leaning more towards the quickjack; perfectly fine for all the...
I was actually just looking at the same setup! The extension is great because it adds another 1.5" of lift height (which i might need for my lifted yukon XL).
Another thing i was thinking about the quickjack is that its mobile... can use it in any of my garage bays, or the driveway.
Let me...
I just downloaded the installation manual because I was curious as well... it says "The floor on which the lift is to be installed must be 4-inch minimum thickness concrete, with a minimum compressive strength of 3000 psi. (Reinforced steel bar optional)"
This is definitely on my radar....
Names familiar, is he one of Marty's guys?
We used to live right next to the SC Action Sports track. Always wanted to get over for a race but our schedules packed
The "off roading" I do is basically just fire roads, fields, beaches; not traditional off roading like I would do with my jeep on rocks or off camber rutted trails.
She gets me anywhere I want to go
They made it so damn ugly on purpose..... free press. If it was a nice/normal looking truck itd have a fraction of the attention it's getting, and would be "just another electric vehicle"
It's not hard to do and isn't visible once the liner is on. You basically make one "cut", then fold the two flaps of metal up onto the firewall. No structural or cosmetic changes. I smooth all edges and put a few layers of oil based epoxy for protection. Have done this on every GM truck I've had.
Clearance is not any different than stock. Add bigger tires, trim and reshape liners to get clearance back. Stock tires damn near touch the liners at full lock.
It's a complete non issue. I love the snow
Front bumper supports cut, then reshape the liner with a heat gun, zip tie to hold it back
Pic of passenger side
Pic of driver side complete
Norcal fender mod for the firewall side of the wheel well
Self tapper to hold the liner back
