2009 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2l Oil Pressure Gauge moving Slow-SOLVED

Truck drives great and a manual gauge moves much faster than the OEM gauge in the cluster. I found this article very informative and think I’m good to go. https://engineprofessional.com/articles/EPQ123_44-52.pdf

    2009 5.3/6l80 swap to 2011 L94 6.2/6l80

Should have clarified, I swapped the L94 into my 2009 GMC Yukon and am now rebuilding the L9H block to use for this project. Will be using the 2013 ECM and Intake. Kind of a Frankenstein engine:)

I do see two different part numbers for each vin…pictures look the same and the sensor positions\locations appear to be the same…

    2009 5.3/6l80 swap to 2011 L94 6.2/6l80

Similar situation. I own a 2011 Chevy Avalanche with a 5.3l\6l80 (LMG) and a donor engine & ECM from a 2013 GMC Yukon that is a 6.2l (L9H). Does anybody know if the 2011 5.3l wiring harness will work on the 6.2l or will I need a new harness?

2009 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2l Oil Pressure Gauge moving Slow-SOLVED

My 2009 Yukon has freshly rebuilt engine with just under 2,000 miles on the installation. Oil pressure hits 40-50 at cold start and settles into 15-20 at hot idle, running around 30-35 at speed. All what I’d call normal pressures with no abnormal noise or temps at idle or high RPM. However...

2009 Yukon Denali AWD High Transmission Temps - SOLVED

Fan motor burned out. Assume it happened before it came to me with a seized motor…might have had something to do with the motor problem:)

2009 Yukon Denali AWD High Transmission Temps - SOLVED

Thank you all for the insight. Never occurred to me to check the electric fans, but sure enough the passenger side fan was not coming on. Replaced it this morning and did same drive as yesterday and the transmission temp stayed in the 170-180 range. Think I’ve resolved my issue for now...

2009 Yukon Denali AWD High Transmission Temps - SOLVED

Thank You Dave! That makes me feel better about the situation. My only other reference is my 2011 Avalanche (5.3l\6L80) rarely gets over 175 in the Texas heat, but it's probably a little lighter and not AWD\4x4. One thing I did notice though on the Yukon was that when the Transmission was...

2009 Yukon Denali AWD High Transmission Temps - SOLVED

I installed a rebuilt 6.2l engine in my Yukon that I had picked up with a seized engine. Mild build with a Stage 1 TSP cam with BlackBear tune, kept the stock exhaust, original 6l80e transmission, torque converter, etc... everything is running as it should regarding oil pressure, engine temps...

    Proper DoD delete oil pump

For what it’s worth, I just finished installing a rebuilt 6.2l engine in my 2009 Denali. Engine came out of a 2013 Yukon with AFM\DOD and VVT. Deleted AFM\DOD and kept VVT. Bored cylinders, new pistons, rings, bearings, TSP Stage 1 Cam, etc…. And I installed a Melling 10295 HV pump. Engine...

Engine Startup Procedure rebuilt 2009 6.2l Denali (Rookie Question)

Update: Bought the AutoCal v3 package from Black Bear Performance and sent them the stock tune files (ECM & TCM), they created a custom tune from my cam specs and the truck fired right up! Just finished the first 100 miles of break-in and it’s running great. Changing oil to start the next...

    2010 DENALI 6.2 Motor "Seized"

Was just looking at steam vents and wondering if I should put the old one back in or upgrade? What kit did you use?

    I feel a clunk from a stop.

Amen to that, felt like I’d been in a prize fight afterwards. But I won with a lot of patience and busted knuckles!

    I feel a clunk from a stop.

My 2011 Avalanche had similar “clunk” and it was the drivers side motor mount. Common problem with GM trucks\SUV’s and a relatively easy fix.

Engine Startup Procedure rebuilt 2009 6.2l Denali (Rookie Question)

This forum is great! Thank you all for your input, advice, and recommendations. I have a referral to a local tuner that I’m going to work with before cranking this thing up. It’s my first time working with an LS engine and I don’t want to screw it up. My last engine build\swap was in a ’73...

Engine Startup Procedure rebuilt 2009 6.2l Denali (Rookie Question)

I put this cam in: TSP L92 Stage 1 VVT Truck Cam I put this Cam Kit into the new Engine: https://a.co/d/ci9SQyf First picture is from the cam kit and second is factory cam specs. Think this is not much of a change from OEM, but I’m new at this..

    Engine/Transmission swap help

For what it’s worth, I just removed the engine and transmission from my 2009 Yukon Denali (AWD) as one unit. The engine was seized and there wasn’t anyway to disconnect the flex plate from the torque converter. It was a beast of a job and I ended up having to pull the heads inside of the...

Engine Startup Procedure rebuilt 2009 6.2l Denali (Rookie Question)

The 2009 Truck didn't come with AFM\DOD so the computer the existing computer doesn't have it. I did the kit on the rebuilt engine, i.e. lifters, cam, valley cover.

Engine Startup Procedure rebuilt 2009 6.2l Denali (Rookie Question)

Picked up a 2009 Yukon Denali AWD with a seized engine recently from a friend that wanted to scrap it. I happened to have a freshly built 6.2l from a 2013 Yukon XL that I was going to put in my 2011 Avalanche, but decided to use it for the Yukon instead. The rebuilt 6.2 has new bearings...

    Rack and Pinion Tubing

I managed to crush the hydraulic tubing on my 2009 Yukon rack and pinion while removing the engine. Anybody know the part number or a source for just the tubing and fittings? Or am I stuck replacing the whole unit?

    2010 DENALI 6.2 Motor "Seized"

I picked up a 2009 Denali In similar condition scenario. Pulled oil plug and coolant came out with the oil. Couldn’t turn motor over with breaker bar on crankshaft pulley. Had to pull engine with transmission together. Pulled the heads and here is what I found, looks like the piston...
