TPMS Wackiness: Had A Flat, Didn't Indicate it; Tire Is At Shop, Still Shows Pressure. What Gives?

Good idea, thanks! Just a few days ago, I picked up one recommended by folks here (OEC-T5 EL-50448 from Amazon).

TPMS Wackiness: Had A Flat, Didn't Indicate it; Tire Is At Shop, Still Shows Pressure. What Gives?

So, this morning I came out to a flat on my '13 LTZ. I must have picked up the screw within 1/4 mile of home, as it had little wear on it. I jacked that corner up so there was no weight on the tire, then started the truck to see what the TPMS said, but it read that tire only 1 psi lower than...

Tire Noise Reduction -- Any Experiences with Fender Liner and/or Fenderwell Treatments?

Thanks for the warning! FWIW, I used Dynamat Xtreme on the BMW I mentioned earlier in the thread, and on the exhaust/gas tank heat shield between the muffler and tank, or on the valance right above the muffler, it hasn't melted or flowed in over a dozen years. Those are both vertical surfaces...

Tire Noise Reduction -- Any Experiences with Fender Liner and/or Fenderwell Treatments?

No. The ResoNix Fiber Mat specs say: "Service Temperature (°F): -40 to +300 continuous; +375 intermittent" Even if not that brand/item, I will only be using automotive-grade materials appropriate for the locations I'm applying them. I don't use stuff like tar tape for house gutters on a...

Tire Noise Reduction -- Any Experiences with Fender Liner and/or Fenderwell Treatments?

Fresh tires are great, but most of their life will be non-fresh, thus I want a long-term solution. Yeah, a tire-side absorption layer sounds ideal, but would have problems that you mention. The ResoNix Fiber Mat has adhesive, but I wouldn't trust just the adhesive, and at 1/2"/1", it's a bit...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My garage isn't flat, either, but I do all my alignments myself and make the floor "flat" under the tires with the use of a water level and a box of plain vinyl floor tiles. To make "turn plates" for the front wheels, you can use newspaper/wax paper layers (alternating 3 news & 3 wax is usually...

Tire Noise Reduction -- Any Experiences with Fender Liner and/or Fenderwell Treatments?

@petethepug , I sure do know the value of these treatments! I have a relatively loud exhaust on my BMW E28 535i (dual 1.75" pipes changed to single 2.5" with a Magnaflow 12646) and putting Dynamat just on the rear valance, on the fuel tank heat shield, in between the taillights, and on the...

Tire Noise Reduction -- Any Experiences with Fender Liner and/or Fenderwell Treatments?

There won't be any issue with using Dynamat outside the cabin. The black gooey layer is butyl rubber, which is frequently used on the exterior of vehicles as a sealing compound itself, and that's what adheres the mat to the surface. So long as you roll it down properly, which includes the...

Tire Noise Reduction -- Any Experiences with Fender Liner and/or Fenderwell Treatments?

Y'all, First off, this is not a generic "How can I make a vehicle quieter?" type of query asking for a complete education on the subject from zero knowledge. I'm fairly knowledgeable about the various products out there, how to use them, and I've successfully treated multiple other vehicles...

Something I Just Noticed About The Rear Doors' Lock Knobs

No, they wouldn't. Two simple bellcranks (as almost every vehicle with forward lock knobs has) would do it.

Something I Just Noticed About The Rear Doors' Lock Knobs

A couple of days ago, I wanted to get something out of the rear seat area in my Tahoe. The front windows were open, the rear windows were closed, the doors were locked except for the driver's door and I didn't have my key & fob on me. So, as I have done innumerable times on four-door vehicles...

    Spohn arms suck.

LOL, your brakes and tires aren't spent after "a run." They're not even spent after an event with ~10 runs. You can get a full season of ~70 runs on a set of R-compound tires and up to three seasons on 200TW-class tires. Brakes will last multiple seasons.

    Child windows over ride?

Understood. I was referring to how far the windows go down, but I guess that wasn't evident. I will edit to clarify.

    Spohn arms suck.

Well, you've left out one type of racing that is one of the least expensive and safest ways to participate: autocross. Aside from having an appropriate vehicle that's properly maintained, you only need a helmet, which most organizations have on hand as rentals. Past that, high-performance (or...

    Child windows over ride?

The "child window" safety claim about how far the windows go down started in the '70s, but there's no validity for it being a legal requirement. It's simply due to the door shape & mechanism design. If it were true, my US-spec '80s BMW's rear windows wouldn't have legally been allowed to go...

Data Sticker On Door Almost Completely Illegible -- Seeking Pic of Yours of Same Specs

Y'all, The data sticker on the door of my 2013 Tahoe LTZ is almost completely illegible. Could anyone provide me with a pic of theirs from a GMT900 with the same specs? Thanks in advance! Relevant info: 2013 Tahoe LTZ RWD [edited to add] 5.3/6L80 3.08 275/55-20 standard towing parts out back...

CORNERING LIGHTS? - HAS ANYONE PUT CORNERING LIGHTS ON A TAHOE?

For the circuitry, you don't need a different stalk or any different control electronics, you just need one "delay off" relay per side. Set the delay to longer than the interval between flashes. As for the lights themselves, there are a number of flush assemblies that can be installed into the...

Rear Seat Belt Receiver Not Latching. No Obvious Debris or Damage Present.

Y'all, Yesterday when giving some friends a ride, we discovered the right rear seat belt receiver doesn't latch at all (even partially). I have to admit I didn't try it when checking out the Tahoe when buying it back in December. There's no obvious debris or damage. Can these be disassembled...
