Water dripping when I remove the passenger floor panel screw?

Bumping this because I encountered the same thing while doing the cabin filter retrofit. It seems as if the screw plugs it sufficiently, but I wonder if adding some non-hardening sealer is in order.

    Factory crossbar upgrade?

I know this won't help immediately, but I am not happy with the stock setup and have obtained Yakima rails in order to install my Yakima uprights and straight round steel crossbars. I'll be doing a writeup when I get it done, but it won't be in the next month at least.

Experiences with Wheelskins Steering Wheel Covers for Your Tahoe (or Other Vehicle)?

Y'all, Searching on "Wheelskins" brings up a few threads where the company's products are mentioned, but no threads where anyone has actually installed one. So, does anyone here have any experiences to share with installing one on their Tahoe (or another vehicle)? EDIT: Derp, thought I was...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

All of my four vehicles' keys are on separate rings. The Tahoe only has the key, fob, and a safe key. Besides the scratching a gaggle of keys can do, they can damage the ignition lock tumbler and/or switch. You might recall both Ford and GM had to do recalls because too many folks had key...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

One of the most annoying noises for me has always been a vehicle's keys rattling on the dash or steering column. I took care of that in my '57 Chevy by gluing a square of felt below the ignition switch (it's still there, and surprisingly not faded), and today I eliminated the sound of the fob...

Can I drop my differential safely with the cv axles disconnected or will my vehicle front end fall

The CV axles aren't part of the suspension and removing them won't affect the suspension.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'll have to try that. As of now, the blade is crapped out and on back order, so I haven't been using the rear wiper at all.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My washer reservoir ran dry yesterday, and today I filled the reservoir with a freshly-opened gallon of juice. That's a pretty mundane thing to post in this thread, huh? What I learned, though, is that the "dry to brimming" volume is about 4 oz shy of a gallon, so I'm stuck holding onto a...

Can I switch the 2nd row seats around?

I solved the exact same issue for a friend with a kayak (albeit in a different vehicle), so I have to ask: exactly how are you trying to fit the kayak in? If you've only attempted it the way she had, which is in the upright position, try it with the kayak sitting on its side. This isn't a...

    Best Dash mat?

Thanks for the suggestion. I take it that you not mentioning a speaker opening means yours doesn't have one?

    Best Dash mat?

Sure, I understand a generic one won't. I'm specifically asking about ones made to fit our GMT900s. Many of them mention a cutout for the sensor, but I haven't run across any that specifically say they have a cutout for the speaker. The DashMat brand says this, which isn't particularly...

    Best Dash mat?

Do any dash covers have a cutout for the center speaker? I'm not exactly an audiophile these days, but I can use all the mids/highs I can get, so I don't want something muffling that speaker if possible.

Water stuck in door panel? 2014 Tahoe

The possibility is zero. Even without any other venting, air can enter via the exterior door handle and the wiring conduit.

Copper Clad Aluminum wire on an auxiliary battery installation

I would only use copper. Size the wire for the length & amperage, then consider the wire and the connectors as a system. I prefer using solder terminals that utilize solder pellets, then sealing the joint with heavy-duty adhesive-lined shrink tubing. Some sources besides those mentioned...

Water stuck in door panel? 2014 Tahoe

No, of course they're not "designed to" fill up with water. No, the speakers are not marine-grade. This isn't a situation of GM "allowing" this to happen -- window seals aren't perfect, so water gets in. Thus, the doors are designed to drain any water that get past the window seals. Every...

Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

In a similar vein, I used old-school suspension shims to align the brackets/pulleys on an aftermarket serpentine system the previous owner had installed on the 401 in my '79 AMC Spirit. You can get sets on Amazon for under $15 and there will likely be more than enough 1/64", 1/32", etc. to take...

My new daily driver, 2013 Tahoe PPV

IMO, this is a case where proper OE bolts and any associated hardware (washers, spacers) are a must. Generic fasteners likely won't have the correct flange, shank/shoulder configuration, and bending resistance.
