    Upper Bal Joint Replacement?

Geeze, I remember my '57 Chevy seemed to have a million miles and were ok but I guess it weighed a lot less.

    Upper Bal Joint Replacement?

Should I expect the second one to be coming up next, so replace both uppers now? We're at 98,000 miles and the other feels ok but do they generally have a general set lifespan?

    Tranny Fluid Flush?

It seems that there are different listings for AC Delco Dextron VI with different part numbers, some clearly stating synthetic and others not stating that. That's why i asked. I have an old bottle on the shelf that does not state synthetic .

    Tranny Fluid Flush?

A related question: Would GM have been using synthetic fluid in 2008? Does it mix with non-synthetic fluid?

    Tranny Fluid Flush?

I can only assume that they know their build specs and related requirements. Our truck has an easy life hauling a dog or two around. Now if only they had recommendations on front hubs and ball joints and didn't bundle the pieces together....$$$. It would be nice if there was a replacement...

    Tranny Fluid Flush?

My owners manual specs the change at 100,000 miles and we are coming up on that. There are no noticeable issues in the tranny function.

    Tranny Fluid Flush?

Our regular repair shop says they have a machine that flushes out all 12 quarts of transmission fluid and back flushes filter, so I assume the filter does not get replaced. Other than that I don't know the details of the device or the procedure. He claims that it gets all the fluid as opposed...

    Upper Bal Joint Replacement?

Yes, from the condition of the rusty bolts I suspected some difficulty.

    Upper Bal Joint Replacement?

That seems to be how the parts I see are found.

    Upper Bal Joint Replacement?

How hard is it to replace upper ball joint in '08 Tahoe? I am seeing that it is generally sold with and installed on a new control ar, Hardware is looking a bit rustly which might complicate the job.

    Front hub assembly replacment difficulty?

Oh, to the contrary. The chemicals used are rusting the cars out again like in the 60's.

    Brake Rotor Securing Torx Screws

I usually just run a lug nut in if needed while assembling the brakes.

    Brake Rotor Securing Torx Screws

I don't ever recall seeing rotor securing screws on any vehicle I've owned and thought perhaps the shop that did the last brake job added them on our 2008 Tahoe. I can't find any references on the GM parts suppliers. Anyways, they look a little dicey but I did get them loose. If they should be...

    Front Hub Replacement - Mileage

A bit late, but just to add to the record, our first went at about 80,000 and I just did the other one at 97,000. The first one was replaced by a repair shop who noted at our trucks are known for that issue. I did the second one and it was easy.

    Front hub assembly replacment difficulty?

Wow, I have to say that there was a lot of fretting over nothing. Chevy did a great job building the '08 Tahoe as the axle spline was well greased as was the bracket surface where the hub sits in. The hub popped right out with 4 wacks with a 3 pound hammer. The grease was actually still yellow...

    Ramps?

I have a set of steel ones in the garage attic that have more years of dust on them than I can remember since I got Blitz Rhinos. Ramps certainly have their place here but one vehicle's running boards are a bit low so it means using a floor jack to lift the car and stick the ramps in. Might just...

    Sold my new tahoe

I don't know much about the lifter issue as our '08 has been pretty good but it always amazes me that when manufacturer's get things right they go ahead and mess with them and make problems. It seems to be across the board with manufacturers. After Jeep went to a new major owners group, to be...

2008 Tahoe Morocco Brown/Black Seat Covers?

No, it's oem factory. It's right on my window sticker. Bought the truck new in '08. Center panels are morocco brown and edges are ebony. This one is not mine but it is the same. I didn't mention mine is a Z71. Notice that the door panels match.

2008 Tahoe Morocco Brown/Black Seat Covers?

Our original front seats, leather morocco brown and black two tone seats are wearing through on the edges where we slide in. I run across replacement covers but never in the color we have. A couple on line seat cover companies offered to try to come up with a match, but I am not confident of...

    Front hub assembly replacment difficulty?

In replacing the hub on a 4wd, what kind of lube should be put on the axle splines? Also, the A1 video shows slobbering the outside of the hub where it fits in the bracket with grease but that isn't making sense unless it's just used as an anti-seize compound. Am I messing something?

    Brake Fluid Capacity?

Is the tech 2 necessary? Can't we just do a normal fluid replacement/bleed, being careful not to let the master go dry?

    Brake Fluid Capacity?

Time to change the brake fluid in our 2008 Tahoe. Interested in knowing the aproximate amount of fluid needed and any suggested affordable brands if there is really any difference. I understand that it takes DOT 3 but beyone that does it matter?.
