On the drivers side, back, lower part of the engine there are these items I'm not sure of:
A - some sort of plug (water jacket drain or ? oil galley drain)
B - same question as A
C - small manifold/fitting that has nothing connected to it. If I feel on top there is a hole - can't tell if...
The new UBT103 kit arrived today. I haven't taken the bezel off but after reading the manual the speaker wires need to be cut and go in/out the harness that comes with the UBT103 kit. Probably the PO only connected to the left side front speaker wire and that's why I'm not getting iphone...
Good going. I'm looking for threads discussing the replacement of all the hoses. The hoses look original and now with 100k miles so I want to replace them with OEM or possibly Gates. The top and bottom to the radiator are straightforward - but there are a bunch of other water hoses in there...
Thanks. The torques you are using should be fine. I'm using Blue Loctite also. I needed a BFH and breaker bar to get the caliper brackets off. It looks like factory loctite or some mechanic used aftermarket loctite. In any case it was working.
Anthony,
Thanks for the note. I'm still thinking the 4600 series. I'm old and want a smooth quiet ride. I have a sports car with Bilstein sport - so if I want a bumpy ride I have that available to me.
My current question is when changing out of the ZW7 RPO (Premium Ride) to "standard" shocks...
Assuming you want stock ride height why not get OEM springs for vehicle with standard suspension and then purchase OEM shocks or aftermarket shocks? I looked at the price on the OEM parts website and they are similar in cost to the Bilstein 199021.
I ordered the UBT103 to get the manual and see how the controls work.
Today we got it to play Spotify from my iphone but it was only coming out of one speaker. I wonder if the Bluetooth device is just hooked to one speaker.
On the Tahoe head unit I tried to select AUX or some input so I could...
To answer your question.
I put in a hidden switch in the starter solenoid wire in a 2006 Tahoe I just purchased.
The switch is under the air cleaner box inside the sheet metal bracket - I lift the hood to get to it.
My Suburban got stolen 4 weeks ago - we'll see if this slows'em down...
When converting from ZW7 to a "conventional" shock-spring setup I see two springs listed:
Bilstein 199021 (2500 series trucks)
Bilstein 199020 (1500 series trucks)
The Bilstein shock series:
5100 (heavy duty)
4600 ("comfort" or like OEM original)
Sure would like to hear back from...
In the 2006 Disk Brake Manual
Front Guide Pin Torque 80 ft-lbs (seems high for that small bolt?)
Rear Guide Pin Torque 31 ft-lbs
Front Caliper Mounting Bracket to Knuckle - 129 ft-lbs
Rear JC5/JH5 Caliper Mounting Bracket to Backing Plate - 148 ft-lbs
Rear JH6 Caliper Mounting...
This is an old thread, I'm new to the forum. Maybe the results are posted on another thread I haven't been able to find. Any way - my new-to-me 2006, 2WD, 100k miles has a clunking sound and slight feeling of clunkiness in the steering wheel noticeable when driving slow over some bumps seems...
Yep - It seems to work that way. The buttons on the device seem to do various things. YukonXL04's idea to get the manual for $25 is still a good one. Will try a few more things today - e.g. get music to play from the iphone.
Thanks for all the comments so far.
I tried "0000" and it paired to my iphone 5s? I think that's what I have.
Now what?
What can I do with it? Yes that's a stupid question.
If I get a call I press the "lifted phone" icon button and it answers and a hidden microphone picks up my voice...
Trying to find the completely-flush-brake-fluid thread including the front reservoir cavity and pushing new fluid through the ABS pump/etc. The theory is if the fluid can be kept clean the system parts will run fine for another 100k miles. Maybe the only way to clean out the reservoir is to...
When I tried to pair again the name "Ultimate Hands Free" came up. I tried 1234 but not 0000. Will try 0000 tomorrow. When I google that name devices come up and it seems the name of the company is Ultimate Hands-Free Solutions. There is a model that looks like what I have but is not in color...
PP,
Thanks for the question. I pushed on one of the buttons (I think the center round button) and turned the Bluetooth on on my iPhone and got to a point where the iPhone asked for a code or password. I didn't know what to do at that point. I'm now thinking the likely code is 1234 but I...
I spent yesterday putting a "hidden" switch inline with the starter solenoid wire.
Switch put under the air cleaner box - there is a hole in the bracket - put your finger in and push forward for on and back for no start. I didn't cut the solenoid wire so it can be put back to stock if needed...
Thanks for posting this. I did this on Saturday with two containers of fluid. I think I need to redo with more fluid. A 3/8" hose is too big - I need to get the next size smaller. We heard the whine noise when the brake was pressed down but when it returned up the noise went away. Was hard...
I'm a bit late to this thread. Excellent research and write up. I'm going over my new-to-me 2006 Tahoe 2WD, 100k miles. I checked my level using the tip of my finger, but I like your Allen tool method much better. I was in a bit of a hurry. Also thanks for finding the Lube-Locker gaskets...
Hello Electronics Experts,
I just got this 2006 Tahoe. I don't think Bluetooth was available in for 2006. I see this device attached at the cig. lighter hole. It does come out if I pull easily. What is it? I see it come on for awhile when I get in the car with my iphone. I'm thinking it...
You mean the black stuff I see on my "new" 2006 5.3L ?
I'm going over my new ride - bit by bit - I took out the plastic piece between the air cleaner and TB intake and saw this black stuff.
