I got my Hellwig sway bar in a couple of days ago and I am pretty shocked at how improved the ride and handling is. I can't really say for sure that I ever got a fair shake with the Hotchkis but it WAS a positive improvement over my 10 year old stock bar and bushings at first at least. The...
I may have to give the extreme version a try but my guess is that it really comes down to how long it sits in the heat and since I'm in Oklahoma there are weeks straight where the outside temp never drops below 90 degrees. I should have also said that the thinner fatmat I've applied over the...
This sounds like something I would try in the past but having already passed my prime of WAY overdoing fatmat I'll warn you off. It melts and it flows! If the sun doesn't do it then your engine bay heat will and you will end up with that butyl tar-like crap everywhere. The inside of the doors of...
It should be a direct swap for you. The 275/60s are a almost 1.5" taller overall so your speedo will read slightly low but it should be something like at 20mph you're actually close to 21mph and at 70 your speedo will read 70 but you'll actually be doing roughly 73. Easy to verify behavior with...
If you corner with any gusto at all this is going to happen on a 5000lb+ vehicle in the front. Could it be the alignment? Probably not if it is within specs and you aren't lifted or anything. If you have the front leveled then that can certainly have an effect as it would normally cause the...
Anyone near OKC interested in a front Hotchkis sway bar? It only comes with 1 bushing, 2 brackets that may or may not be for these vehicles and no bolts. Hotchkis wants almost $100 before shipping just for the original hardware that wasn't included in the first place so this may dissuade you...
You should really stop calling this brake fade. Brake fade is when the brakes overheat to the point that they are no longer able to generate enough friction. Even the lowest base brake system on this generation will easily overcome the available grip from the tires without ABS and they will not...
I drove it all over the place and decided to check the new sway bar bushing I installed the other day and somehow this one has started to come apart as well. I'm not sure what is going on as the other 3 don't show any issue and I made sure this one was well and thoroughly greased. I guess I'll...
Having just recently put Escalade mirrors on my Denali and then driving the GFs 2014 Sierra I'm wondering if I wouldn't vastly prefer the truck mirrors. They aren't all that much taller than the stock yukon mirrors but they see a LOT more especially horizontally. The Escalade mirrors give you a...
I can't speak for the actual impedance of the Kickers as I didn't check before I installed them but I just read 3.5 ohm off each bose tweeter I had pulled out of my Denali. My assumption has always been that the Kickers were lower impedance and/or more efficient as I did get codes after I...
I washed it today so here you go. As Loki said everything else just worked which was nice and the increased viewing area is easily worth the cost even before selling the original mirrors.
I still really need to trim that valence.
I finally found a second Escalade mirror and slapped them on earlier. I know the flashers work but didn't test anything else. Hopefully it's all good :emotions33:
FWIW we have a 2014 Sierra with the same Fox 2.0 coilovers I have on my 2015 Yukon and her Sierra rides SO much nicer than my Yukon both before and after hotchkis sway bars. I really wish my Yukon Denali rode as nice as that SLE Sierra does...
Swapped out the bad bushing on my front sway bar and drove it through the car wash. I need to remember to squeeze some more grease into it before I drive it too much.... we'll see.
I've got one Escalade mirror to put on, waiting for the right deal on the other side. The stock mirrors are absolutely atrocious for normal use and even worse while towing.
My oem passenger headlight was beyond destroyed by the original owner and then cobbled back together and it was leaking and corroded both and worked for a few weeks then popped up an error for the front passenger turn indicator when it wasn't working and was specific about the error. It also...
Don't take this as absolute truth but I think my Rancho 9000XLs didn't expand either. Having been through 3 or 4 sets of them you'd think I would remember for sure but I don't. They all definitely didn't expand when I pulled them off for not working anymore.
If they ARE supposed to expand then...
The real value in e85 if it isn't cheaper is for almost entirely eliminating any possibility of knock. If you know you're going to beat on it, especially in the heat, then fill up with e85. Hopefully in the near future I'll add the ability to run it on my 2015 and get my tune updated.
Honestly no idea. I understand the theory and it may well work but you're talking about correcting a third of a degree by eye and I don't see that being an easy thing to get right without being lucky. I would find a shop local to you that handles at least some performance alignments either for...
