"Service Suspension" Msg solved when compressor deleted. Easy DYI

Good info! I can't say anyone's ever bothered to go this far. AFAIK, when deleting the ALC, it has always been advised to just leave the compressor in place, plugged in and pull some fuses for the compressor motor and something else. It's convenient that that value of resistor works cuz it's...

That very well could be your problem. Good find and, if it fixes it, consider yourself lucky.

    Little Help chasing a short?

Gonna have to start by isolating the problem component. Since this started after replacing the switch module, start there. Go about it as you would with diagnosing any other parasitic draw. There are tons of how-tos on YouTube. Basically, you'll connect a digital volt meter that reads DC...

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Have you posted an "as-is" pic of the front? I think them Alpharex headlights would look more appropriate on a black Tahoe with the chrome trim. Mine's grey and de-chromed.

I know it's more. Just their product, alone, is enough of a deterrent for me.

2000 Cadillac Deville digital cluster swap in 2002 Yukon? Has anyone tried to make this work?

Interesting! I've never heard of this particular concept but I can say that you should not plug it in and see what happens. Just because the plugs are the same doesn't meant the wiring will be. The plugs on a Denali cluster and my '02 S10 were the same but the wiring was different. I...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

    1. Mine's lowered so it's not as heavy on the wheels. 2. My air is pre-rounded so it fits the inside of the tire properly for complete support. 3. Despite living a high-risk drivestyle, I suck my gut in and take the extra slack out of my seatbelt.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

I'm not a fan of their product. Shit quality as of the last 20 or so years. I daily old school styled Adidas and, even though Nike owns Converse, I still rock my All Stars.

Growing up doesn't have to suck

I should've said "assemblies". I feel that just saying "lights" refers to the bulbs. Still, even if that Swoosh went completely black when not powered, I'm not spending $700 on headlights/housings/assemblies/fully assembled modular forward illumination pods. I'll have about $120 total...

Growing up doesn't have to suck

Twinning with my TYF bros makes makes me tingle. But, you know I'm in Louisiana, right? That means I'm poor and oppressed. I have so much HID and projector junk floating around from past cars and projects that I can't bring myself buy $700 pre-made housings. Those would look a lot better if...

    Replace air ride

I didn't read it as him deleting the ALC, just replacing it with aftermarket replacements. Or, does the Strutmasters kit fully delete for ALC and Autoride? @big_tow, I cosign the others' suggestions of keeping ALC. You can do without Autoride if the shocks are firm enough.

    Proper DoD delete oil pump

Like Randeez asked- what was your oil pressure like before? I don't believe that pressure, if it is accurate, is low enough to cause collapsed lifters. It's plenty when driving. I'd confirm the pressure with a mechanical gauge before diving deeper.

    Proper DoD delete oil pump

I assumed you reused the VLOM cuz you said you replaced the screen when you replaced the sensor. I never knew you could use the screen in the non-AFM valley cover. It wouldn't go in on mine and I used a stock valley cover just like what looks to be in that AMS kit. My thoughts are that either...

    Heat shield

It's possible a bolt came loose. But I'd bet the tab broke. Excerpt from my build thread: "Apparently, when I bent the heat shield away for clearance when making my resonator delete, it cracked by one of the two mounting ears when I bent it back into position and eventually broke. I didn't...

Is that a rebuilt engine? Factory cam bearings would show copper in the worn area. That cam bearing is in great shape if it's original.

    Proper DoD delete oil pump

What pump did you put in it? The stock pump for the AFM engines is a high volume pump. I used a Melling M295HV for mine. Since I capped off everything AFM-related, essentially making it like a Gen3 engine, a standard volume/standard pressure pump would've been fine. But I wanted more volume...

    2008 Tahoe Upper dash repair/replace

Do you have the part number for your replacement dash? I have a new dash in the box and was considering reinforcing it before installing it. Your post seals the deal. It's getting epoxy and aluminum bars.

    Replace air ride

The springs for the ALC-equipped models are a little softer than those on the standard models since the air sleeves keep a minimum amount of pressure in them at all times which adds some firmness. Without functioning air springs, it very well could be too soft, especially when loaded. I'd...
