Large amount of GM trucks sitting in the parking lot of abandoned Delco plant in Kokomo, IN. I hear they are waiting for modules due to chip shortage which coincidentally were manufactured at this very location. Can't make this stuff up.
I was seriously looking at the 540i but no one will budge on price. I know it's a sedan but I have an older Tahoe that I've decided to keep since seeing the current offering. Also looking at the CT5 V which I can get at discount drive it a couple of years and see if the market changes.
I think you'll need an attorney to get GM to do the right thing. Sorry to hear that you are having these troubles and hope someday you come out alright.
Here's a bit of irony, Kokomo Indiana where Delco Electronics ran several fabs where chips were manufactured 24/7 and has since been closed down and outsourced. Those same lots where thousands of workers parked each day are now filled with thousands of GM trucks waiting for chips while GM begs...
Quality problems are one thing GM's refusal to be contrite with utter refusal to improve is another. Worked for GM it is their MO and their corporate legacy.
The state of the auto industry and their offerings makes me thankful I have a nine year old vehicle that runs well and for my purposes designed better than anything I see or don't see at the dealerships.
Not sure if the extended warranties granted are transferable if they are it would help with the residual value. It might be time to escalate your demands.
Take it on a long trip when you don't have to be home anytime soon. Did you get an extended warranty, if so, drive it like a borrowed mule and trade it in next year.
A fella complained about poor fuel milage very similar to this, well , after everyone pitched in with advice he revealed that his wife let the vehicle idle for 20 minutes everyday while picking up his son at school. Fill it up and reset the trip data see what happens.
At 25% I sometimes have to roll my windows down when it's dark to see my mirrors though it's perfect in daylight so if you're not backing up in dark places often go with 25%.
If a guy plans on driving it for 100,000 miles these early failures aren't confidence inspiring. OTOH, if you plan to trade before warranty expires then the only risks are being stranded far from home, being without a vehicle while GM tries to source some spare parts and or a big hit to trade in...
These SUVs are tall and heavy which makes them more sensitive to inertial influence in corners and road contours. Air ride helps to offset leaning from those conditions plus it would counteract nose diving and rear squat while braking and accelerating. If these don't concern you then go without...
I agree with this 100%. The failures are real and continuing until proven otherwise. Not sure where these posters get their information that it is a certain time frame, is it GM saying so?
I think jayoco was replying to a statement I made that it is what it is and enjoy the new vehicle that was...
It may not be a bad engine but it has and has had a problem since the introduction of DFM. GM truck owners have been complaining about lifter related failures since early 2020 way outside the window you cited.
I don't get why after relating this over and over someone comes along to parrot the...
