    Thank you, another on spot reply. I was considering the TSP 212/218 high lift version. Can I ask why you suggest the low lift version though instead of the high lift version?

    I'd never toss a z06 cam in a daily driver heavy truck, Tahoe. Sure it might be 40hp right there...but where @ what rpm? The drivability requirements and cam selection of a Z06 is completely different from a heavy truck SUV daily driver. Thanks for the reply.

    The 03-06's clusters that I have seen appear to be bulbs as well, just very tiny ones at that.

    The 99-02 clusters have the twist in bulbs, but the later 03-06 clusters have soldered in bulbs. Sorry I do not know the bulb count for the different clusters.

    If you hit the stick on the gauge cluster, can you toggle between total mileage the trip odometer? It's strange that it's not defaulting to just a regular trip odo. What does happen when you hit the stick on the cluster?

    If you don't have the steering wheel control buttons, then you won't be able to use those other odo's and features in the gauge cluster unfortunately. Only with a GM can you play with the DIC while holding onto the steering wheel driving ;)

    Yes very common on the 03 and later clusters. I believe the fix is to reflow the solder on the 03 and later. My 04 Tahoe cluster is dim. 02 and earlier clusters are a different animal all together, even though they look similar from the outside.

    Know what you mean Vern! ;) I did that road trip in June, 725 miles, Orange County to Medford. I actually kind of enjoyed the drive. Coming home I did it in one day, 12 hours with just a few stops for gas, food and bathroom.

    The former FD Suburban has a 6.0. The 8th digit in the VIN is U, which is LQ4 6.0. The 8.1 engine'd ones have a G for the 8th digit. 8th digit in any vehicle VIN is the engine code.
