    Has it been doing so since day 1? Mine had been doing this since day 1. I thought it was a problem with a caliper or something, until I read the thread on the slip yoke issue, and how some people were lubing the slip yoke.

    It would clunk as I was coming off the brake, before I even touched the accelerator. It seemed to happen more when I had harder stops.

    Finally got my new slip yoke installed last week, and my front and rear diff fluids changed. No more clunk taking off from a stop!

    @Keanen55 , I agree that the Dormans are not as sturdy as OEM's would be. But at cost, I can buy another entire set of Dormans if I have to and still not reach the price of new OEMS...

    EPILOGUE: I slapped the new switch back in the truck this morning. A trip to the dealer and $95 later, I HAVE FOLDING MIRRORS!!! I'm now waiting on my chrome covers, and I'll be 100%. Yay me!

    Sometimes when you come to a stop, particularly on a harder than normal brake, when you come off the brake to proceed, you hear and feel a clunk, as if something was being held and was released when you came off the brakes.     On a lighter, more successful note, I got my drive shaft part number, called Fort Wayne Clutch, and ordered a new slip yoke, as I have been experiencing the stop / start clunk as long as I can remember. I thought is was a bad caliper or something, but TAHOE YUKON FORUM to the rescue once again!

    Thanks for the info. I am not averse to getting them painted, or even simpler, buying the full chrome cover for them. as you can see by my pictures, I'm still OK with chrome. I'm old school lol.

    I see them now, the mirrors anyway. I'll look for the switch. Dorman makes an aftermarket set of mirrors with power fold, blinker, heated for significantly less than even the used OEMS. Do you know if Dorman is a good product?
