What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Anyone have a pic of a black nnbs with a black escalade roof rack?

Forget it. Bought an Escalade roof rack today and already blacked it out. Putting it on next weekend. Hopefully I love it

Today the seat heaters stopped working in the 07 escalade. Pulled the little box out from under the passenger seat and one of the terminals was black. Cleaned it with some sandpaper and put dielectric grease in the plugs, bent the prong a little so it would make a better connection and now it works again.

Had the music turned up otw to get my son from daycare and the amps went out. Go to daycare, put in the spare fuse, only 1.2v going to the cap. Got home, investigated, bad fuse. Replaced, it's all good now. Had me worried. It's only a 60a fuse, but I need to upgrade the fuse and holder anyway since I no longer have 2 runs of 4ga running to the back.

the ANL type fuse's seem to hold up much much better than the AGU, better design less prone to melting

So today I set about changing my mirrors to add power fold. I started off geeked, because a long standing problem was about to be solved! I did the install:

Cut out the notch from the door panel for the new switch with the power fold button (the Dremel is a marvelous tool!):


Installed the switch. If you don't have one of these (the little purple tool that holds bits), GET YOU ONE:

3 Screws later, the switch was in.

I plugged in the wire hookups in the right locations, put it all back together, started the truck, and BAM! Nothing. Nothing worked on the switch. Wouldn't move the mirrors, wouldn't adjust the mirrors, and would only let down the driver side window.

That SUCKED.

So I started Tshoot. Checked window switches on each door. They worked. Crap. Bad new switch, i thought. I unhooked the wire harness from the new switch, and plugged them into the original switch. WORKED, including the blinkers on the mirrors! Bad new switch! So, I installed the original switch back in the door panel, put the door panel back on, and boxed up the new switch for return.

Then I said, let me go look on the manufacturer website to see if I missed anything (no instructions included with the switch):




Yeah, so adding power mirror functionality is NOT a plug and play evolution.

On a lighter, more successful note, I got my drive shaft part number, called Fort Wayne Clutch, and ordered a new slip yoke, as I have been experiencing the stop / start clunk as long as I can remember. I thought is was a bad caliper or something, but TAHOE YUKON FORUM to the rescue once again!

SO, IS ANYONE IN THE DALLAS AREA THAT HAS A TECH 2 (I assume), and knows how to program the mirror / window switch???
