    No radio output when cold

Yes its a stock head unit. I do believe its a cold/fractured/intermittent solder joint that once heated up expands just enough to work. Then it cools/contracts and no worky. Does a 2 door have an amp? Located where? Thanks Tbruz

    No radio output when cold

1997 2 door tahoe, 100% factory stock with cd/radio. Radio powers up, lights work, bands and channels change but no sound comes out for about 10 minutes then everything is perfect for rest of day. Is this just a radio going bad or is there an amp somewhere that could be going bad as well? If...

Anyone have a carfax account and willing to run a VIN?

Thanks Sunlit, but no longer needed as truck turned out to be a turd. On a positive note, I figured out how to get a free carfax. Google free carfax coupon and take it to any nearby car dealership, they will pull the carfax for free. Tbruz

how long do you plan on keeping your tahoe/yukon?

I bought my 1997 4 door new in November of 1996 and put 281K miles on it before the tranny gave out. I replaced it in March of 2011 with a 2 door 1997 tahoe with 90K miles from the Southern states. Currently has 120Kmiles and I plan on keeping this one for a long time to come. Tbruz

    Under Hood Storage Box

Can someone post a pic of the underhood retractable light and location. Does it go in place of the stationary light (same location) or is it a second light? P/N would be cool as well. Thanks Tbruz

    lifter noise on cold start

Changed oil and filter today with 5 quarts of 5w-30 Pennzoil high mileage oil. Will report back tomorrow. Also have a 16 oz can of Seafoam standing by for step two if the fresh oil doesn't quiet it down. UPDATE: Last two days have been fairly warm here in NH, overnight low temps in the...

    lifter noise on cold start

1997 Tahoe with 110K milkes. Northeast location where the overnight temps can get to 0 degrees F or slightly below 0 on occasion. I'm getting some lifter noise on initial cold start; clatters for around 15 to 30 seconds then gets nice and quiet for the rest of the day. Currently using...
