Bilstein also has a larger bodied shock (60mm vs 46mm). I have noticed my 5100s seem “mushier” or fade a little in summer due to hot temps, and this is mainly onroad. I had looked at remote reservoir struts, but can’t afford it. The Bilstein price wise is between standard 5100 and remote...
Those look pretty good! Billet anodized aluminum made in USA...

I might just have to try them. To OP-Thanks!
The 2-speed transfer cases have no "center" differential. There are clutches to engage the front axle--or not--based on wheel slip, etc. Auto lets the computer decide when to engage the clutches.
4WD Hi and LO engage the clutches automatically locking the front and rear driveshafts together...
It could be the liftgate itself. Try some silicone on the bushings where the liftgate contacts the body and see if it quiets it down? Those bushings may be getting hard by now and squeaking.
Do you have glasses in the glass holder/flip down mirror? Mine rattle like crazy. At first I thought it was something on the passenger’s side, but traced it down to the glasses. Sound in interiors can travel in funny ways and drive you crazy.
So it is hard to tell from the pics (which look sic btw). Are the lower arms the same length as the 64-72 A-body?
GM must have gotten their money's worth out of the tooling for those!!!
I would ask for the road force numbers. 40-45lbs is the max (depending). Road force is (probably) more important than actual balance. The shop I took mine to also discussed static balance and dynamic balance... Static balance was taken care of by clip-on weights inside the wheel. Dynamic...
They don’t screw. They pop on and off and are held by grooves and rings. They are hard, but with a little twisting and prying they do come off. I thought I would crack mine, but I never did while getting the ends off. I bought adjustable rods off eBay and re-used the stock ends.
No trouble like that. Just getting the Bilstein on as they are a tad longer than stock. Some loosen the upper ball joint. I just used a really long pry bar!
Kinda. I LOWERED the rear 2” for ease of accessibility. Then didn’t like the noe up attitude, so lowered the front—but too much. So I adjusted it back up with the Bilstein. Anyway, very happy with the Bilstein.
So it is leveled—just lower than normal!
