Honestly, I just used the kit and spliced in the three wire plug/connection for the 3157 bulbs up front. I read a lot about the sockets burning out...
Might have to try that. Been searching for a sealer that dries clear simce my paint ha a ton of tiny "rock chips" for lack of a better term. Always get the thing nice and shiny and then these white dots start appearing all over lol. Looking for something that helps fill them in.
I kinda like the new lights. Almost disappoints me that I cannot get away with running a white running light like that (or any other new model vehicle on the road) on my split headlight front end AND have it looking right.
And a few more just to recap most of the things I've done to the shitbox... plus, I realized yesterday I need to do more work with the camera since I am a bit out of practice.
These are the current state of modifications that most ask about or comment on. Obviously, this will continue to...
@about20ninj45 Anything is possible, it's just directing where electricity goes and when. there are sequential modules online that you can wire in to do It.
Removed it because I didn't like that I couldn't get it to blink in sequence with the others lol...
and appreciate it. It's slowly becoming something I'm okay with driving. Lol
and tonight I was able to make some progress. Had an hour or two and was able to wrap up the other side skirt since I have been rocking the stock z71 cladding since I worked on the driver's side...
But here are some progress photos. Didn't get a finished one since it got dark, but it looks like...
I do need to replace the fog lights. Haven't really been a eye sore to me, even with my OCD, but I know they need it.
Going to try and find some that match the headlights honestly. Simple, smoked housings is all I really need since I never use the fogs anyway.
I'm a huge fan of having a few parts on my vehicles that someone can't just go online or to the parts store and pick up... Also love seeing people's reaction to my response after they ask me where I bought X part and I tell them I made it.
Hell, the blue truck in the first post is evidence of...
Almost pulled the trigger on a grille and bumper caps for a NNBS Silverado today...
The grille would have worked, the bumper caps were too short unfortunately and I really don't have the time or want to try and fabricate an extension on the bumper cap.
But, seeing it mocked up made me wish I...
precisely... Love it when things in my head turn out to be how they are in reality...
The front bumper needs replaced, along with the cap, and if I'm able to get the valance with it, I'll be able to do a cleaner install... Along with painting everything to match.
Shoooot, I need to trade the Z71 rack for an Escalade rack lol.
But I was able to get the lip on. Still some fine tuning and stronger mounting needed for peace of mind but it's on there and exactly what this needed.
I may notch the center section to give it a raised middle but that's TBD.
They will be deleted once I'm in a position to do it. still debating on shaving the holes on top or putting on an Escalade rack. Trying to figure out if the rack will ever be needed...
And today I tried to spray the tails. Would have looked good but I messed them up due to not being able to properly take my time. Now I don't have the time to do ll the sanding so I guess it's going to cost me some wallet pain.
Spec-d, here I come...
