This is exactly why the auto industry has been dumbing down accurate gauges with feel good-o-meters that don't move until they are out of normal range. They found out some people actually pay attention to them and ask questions they don't want to be bothered with.
Thanks, Chris.
Most campsites aren't that much of a problem. Rocks and blocks usually do the trick. I'm already leveled with rear spacers. It's the occasional odd spots I'm forced to camp in that are the problem. I'm lowest in seniority with my hunting buddies, so I always get the $hittiest...
Something like that in black would be perfect for me. If you get them on anytime soon, let me know how you like them. I won’t be pulling the trigger for a few weeks.
Nice, I already took the heat gun to my stockers and they looked good for a while. Now they’re starting to get gray again. Pretty sure I am too cheap to buy the auto steps. Looks great, though. I could see myself painting them, but one of them has a slight bend from the previous owner. Not...
Rocket man, I know exactly what you’re talking about having made this mistake myself multiple times. The instructions say to only leave three or four threads exposed out the bottom of the barrel nut. Sort of a fail safe. At this point they are just starting to mushroom
A nice, actually noticeable little upgrade. If there is any lateral sway at this point, I assume it’s all in the tires. The bushings and end links are quite a bit stiffer than the stock rubber ones. My front sway bar was shiny under the original bushings indicating movement. The new ones seem to...
Thanks, Wade. It does help. I'm amazed how many people in the article are NOT bothered by not sleeping level. I don't consider myself OCD, but I've had way too many nights of poor sleep because of this.
I bought a couple of Harbor Freight 2 1/2 ton scissor jacks that have a pretty wide base...
I sleep in the back for a few weeks a year when camping. I've been using rocks, wood blocks, etc for awhile. Because of the forward to aft slope of the cargo area, I always end up sliding down to the gate in the middle of the night. My 2x1 inch level has just made it worse. Some places I go, I'm...
Tired of the ugly stockers. Something ideal for me would be a black 3" nerf style with integrated step pads. I'd like to see what looks good on our trucks.
Personally, just in the looks category, I don’t think nose high looks bad. Here’s a pic of mine with seven eights inch higher in the front. This is of course, unloaded and impractical. I have since put a 1 inch spacer in the back
+/- 1/2 inch = level (ish)
My rear spring insulators were so smashed, when I replaced them it added 1/2 lift to the rear If it really bothers you, that might help to replace one or both of each.
Thanks! Yes, approximately. +/- .25 inches.
It rides GREAT. Replacing swaybar bushings and endlinks this weekend. No ride complaints AT ALL! Much better than stock in all respects
I put the front Bilsteins on the top setting and it was a little nose high. Put 1 inch spacers in the back with new insulators that ended up giving me an inch and a half in the rear. Now it’s an inch taller in the back.
Finally done. Now it’s 1 inch higher in the back than the front with the 1 inch spacer and new insulators ( a 1.5 inch net gain ) I expect it to settle a little bit based on how pancaked the old spring insulators were. The bottom ones were almost worn through. Tops weren’t bad.
So it turns out I had regular shocks. No air or auto/self level. 2015+ ZW7 code "premium smooth ride" that does NOT have the accompanying G65 code does NOT have Nivomats. 2015+ may not even have them at all. Can't verify, though. A quick visual under the truck should tell you. Nivomats are...
