Popping noise when taking off from stop.

The sway bar bushings are about 3/4 from center of each sway bar. Bushing is the red poly type here.

Popping noise when taking off from stop.

It’s occurring under acceleration. My $’s on Motor mount(s), front or rear sway bar bushings. One time I had a miniature keg of Heineken from Costco making that sound while rolling around in back hitting the seats.

    Paul intro

Wot he said from SoCal. Sorry for delay, fell asleep while texting. Seriously though, this is an old geezer hang out and not too grouchy either. You’ll be welcome because you didn’t make your intro post in all caps.

    IRRITATING, locks don't always lock

Oh yea, insurance sent me to 3 different shops to get it fixed and finally the last shop did me a solid and said ONLY the dealer should be working on the locks. It took two weeks and another visit when a d/s door handle fell off they were working on. Rental was covered too so that was also...

Aftermarket mic spliced into OEM mic?

The round plastic speaker looking thing above the drivers door in the headliner is for the hvac, it’s not a speaker. In most vehicles the mic is in the dome lamp console. You may have a way to turn the gain up / down on the existing mic too.

    IRRITATING, locks don't always lock

Mine was a combination of actuators and door handles getting ready to fall off from wear. The nail in the coffin was kids working our neighborhood for unlocked cars to pilfer. Punks got about $5h worth of stuff out of the truck one night. Threw in the towel after that and made an ins claim...

What do you think of my new teeth?

If it’s out and tru trac posi with 4.56’s isn’t already in there, send it out if you have 2WD AWD, meh. Shim it up just a hair. It has normal wear but the adjustment will extend its lifespan.

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

2011 Yukon Denali. 2-3 clunk is red flag in the trans or the motor mounts or front differential bushings are worn. Either way it’s either covered under warranty or repairable. Best to take it back and say diagnose it (under warranty) and see what surfaces. Last year our 09 Escalade AWD had...

    2009 Yukon Denali worth

GM only skipped the AFM / cylinder deactivation on the L92 & L9H or the 07-09 6.2L. All the other motors got it in our 1500 / 1/2T trucks.

2016 Yukon XL repairs for 100k miles

4 kids. Why would a guy want you to add resistors made for home lighting projects to fool your stability system into thinking a potential rollover isn’t really happening so it can avoid it? That kit he’s referring to lowers resale and potentially makes it unable to sell or trade to a dealer. Why...

Getting spare parts - front differential, transfer case and rear end

Hehehe, and 08 :p was AWD only. Yes, having those parts in a pile is gold with two 200k Denali. The next part on the horizon is a L96 6.0L gas motor from a 2500 / 3500 Burb or truck. It’s a regular gas 380hp + e85 that drops in both trucks. If you add a cam before installing it you’ll get a...

Drivers side window switches / seat heater

The driver door switch is the only door switch that can be programmed. Try to find another module from a truck with seat heaters.

Does the underhood junction box (fuse box) reprogramming for it to function.

Normally I would have thought reprogramming a fuse box was a weird question. Having recently read through some Mercedes bulletins and articles about their fuse box / SAM modules, you could really be screwed if one of those went out.

Used Escalade or New ‘25 Yukon /Tahoe/ Suburban?

Uh, yes Sir. This may be the 2WD version of the Escalade with the possibility that the owner added a performance enhancer. I have seen that vehicle tow a 20’ toy hauler in the past.

    2009 Yukon Denali worth

These days a 2WD 09 Denali is as common as hens teeth. It’s the first I’ve seen mentioned on this forum in almost a decade. It has low milage for its age and depending on your location if e85 is available, it breathes fire running e85 at 2-$3 a gal. A 6.2L that fills up for 60-$80 is a keeper.

Used Escalade or New ‘25 Yukon /Tahoe/ Suburban?

Can’t explain how or why anyone would want to or get a vehicle that doesn’t work or have to be serviced. It’s really not a choice anyone has, no matter what’s purchased. Even if he bought a Kia, the same still flies. Any vehicle can be a lemon. 1st: Suggesting that someone purchase an...
