    Fuel Gauge Wonky, Removed Cluster

It’s not u, I have a carton mindset. Silverfish, bugs that look coated with silver powder, at least here in so cal. We always joke about them causing any of our electrical issues around the house.

    Fuel Gauge Wonky, Removed Cluster

Just a thought. The temp gauge in my 09 will get a mind of its own about every two years then, back to normal. The only culprit I could narrow it down to was driving in heavy at highway speed. I was going to swap out my battery cables and replace the BCM if it didn’t stop. Got silverfish in...

    Remote Start Troubleshooting

Any fault in the rear lift gate / glass or alarm defeats the remote start. Broken lift glass defrost wires are known to trigger the alarm or DTC after the vehicle is locked. A few have said keying on the ignition without starting the vehicle 2x will undo the R/S lock out triggered by too many...

    Remote Start Troubleshooting

Did you ever check if your rear defroster is working and the rear glass is 150% shut? Any trace of an open door, hood, lift gate or hatch glass will abort the start sequence.

    Fuel Gauge Wonky, Removed Cluster

Grrr, that’s frustrating. Is there a way to get into a harness connector somewhere and connect a new, known working sender to isolate where the issue may be in the harness?

    Completely broken driver door handle

The interior door panels are NLA and what’s left is NOS (new, old stock). If you get in a spot and there’s nothing available for the 11-14… The 07-10 door panels do not have the wear problem as later door panels but are not a direct fit. Some parts are redesigned. The 2nd row late doors cards...

Preloved digital control panels from other vehicles do not need to be programmed if you’re going to replace it.

Big Mama needs new tires - need feedback on new size

I’d keep whatcha got on the rims. You get more rubber on the ground and lower profile. https://tiresize.com/calculator/

Clunk when accelerating after coasting at 80 km/h, and clunk when reapplying gas after coasting from 40 km/h to 60 km/h

They are too big to migrate to the motor. They’ll get into the rest of the fuel system though. It forces 100k fuel system maintenance most have never done.

Anyone wanna play internet diagnosis (08 Yukon XL suspension noise)

Welcome from SoCal. I’d say, “what does a bad wheel bearing sound like for $500”. If the noise stops when turning at higher speeds, that’ll verify it too. BTW what trim is the truck? Denali 6.2L 3/4 T 2500 6.0L 2WD or 4WD w/ a 5.3L

Clunk when accelerating after coasting at 80 km/h, and clunk when reapplying gas after coasting from 40 km/h to 60 km/h

Cool welcome from SoCal, deff what others have mentioned on front diff mounts / dog bone bushings. Inspect motor mounts for being popped / leaking dampening fluid, front sway bar bushing and bar attachment hard mount points. Lube the driveshaft yoke too …...

    Gas Mileage

Our 09 Esky w/ almost 185 orig clicks is finicky. Anywhere from 6-14 mpg on e85. The Trans is new. No AFM on the 6.2L in 09 so that’s part of the issue. I have a lot of idle time, 100% a/c use, AWD, a heavy footed highway entrance and tons of local hills and stoplight traffic. The 14mpg occurs...

Need a little help with CANBus trouble.

What you are describing is the classic scenario of rotten + / - battery cables degrading from the inside out. They look pretty outside, inside they’re resisting and laughing at you chase codes. Change em out, THEN start following the real codes because the can/bus will have full, uninterrupted...

Clunk when accelerating after coasting at 80 km/h, and clunk when reapplying gas after coasting from 40 km/h to 60 km/h

Denali Standard or XL 2WD or 4WD You’re mentioning km so I assume you’re up North with 4WD or AWD. Verifying will make an easier diagnosis.

Interested in beefing up my Suburban

The AWD Buick is boring reliability like the Saturn. Boring is a luxury when compared to an unreliable vehicle. Believe it or not new car smell will cure what the wifey’s looking for. The smell of new foam, upholstery and glue in a heated / chilled seat set is like a home remodel. Find an OEM...

Replace 31 gallon tank with 39 gallon tank from 2500 series Suburban?

I sputtered into Gila Bend when coming out of NM from AZ. A long âss strip of desert that will get you stuck in the sand if you pull off the road and no cell signal. Never so happy in all my life to see that truck stop pop up on the drive from TX to SoCal. Our trucks tank holds 31 gal and when...

    Gas leak

He’s got an 07 & the 03 Yuke XL. Not sure what the 07 is but guessing it’s a Tahoe w/ a 5.3L. If it goes by the stats and typical occurrences the fuel leak is prolly the seal at the top of the tank. If you’re on a budget and doing your own wrenching it’s a cheap fix. If you can wait until the...

Escalade dies after driving a while and comes to a stop

What @davidavidd said above. Dealerships love customers that come in for this problem. They immediately see the carbon pellet canister is spitting out pellets and sink about 3-4 hours of unneeded diagnostic time into it. Then the dealer charges the customer for a new fuel pump, evap purge...

2007 yukon xl....gas tank hisses (pressure) when truck is running with gas cap OFF????

Eww Buoy, you’ve got Sea Hags in there. Call a specialist. Seriously though, how does the truck run otherwise? Could it be that you have z55 air suspension and one of your lines has a leak!

Escalade dies after driving a while and comes to a stop

Lucky you! 07 Esky and no AFM on the 6.2L. If you can, determine the build date on it to confirm it’s not one of the very few equipped with sleeping AFM. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10180695-9999.pdf Two things to start with: a) Replaceme the -\~ battery cables. They rot from...
