    2nd to 3rd gear flare

Thanks for all the help! I spoke with a shop today about a trans service with new filter and flush the cooler and lines. Anyone done this themselves? How did you flush the lines and cooler? I realize this may not be a fix but its a starting point.

    2nd to 3rd gear flare

I noticed my Suburban has started to flare on the 2-3 shift. It has the 4L65E transmission. I've searched and read some conflicting information. So far, I've read that its a pre-cursor to a rebuild. I've also read it can be remedied (or at least improved) with the Corvette servo. And somewhere I...

    Which diff to buy?

I've heard nothing but good things about the TrueTrac. That's what I've decided to use once I have some $$.

    Denali's demand a premium?

Having just done this same search about a month ago, I can tell you they are worth a bit of a premium. I'm with you though, I only was willing to pay high blue book if the miles were reasonable. My budget was also 10k. I looked at several but the issues I ran into was high mileage and poor...

    Larin Floor Jack from Costco

Shot in the dark here. I have a Larin AJLD-2 floor jack that I got from Costco years ago. I'm trying to figure out which screw is to fill the jack. There are two, one on the hydraulic ram and one on the valve body. I lost the manual for it. Any insight is appreciated.

    Slow Fueling

Though my own research, it could possibly be the evap canister itself. Looks like I need to test the vent lines for clogs and check the evap canister as well.

    Slow Fueling

I'm having trouble with slow fueling on my Suburban. I can only get a fast trickle otherwise the pump clicks off. I just replaced the canister vent valve. The problem seems almost worse now. I'll check all the hoses again. What else should I look at?

NNBS Brake upgrade and spare tire?

Sorry, I meant to post this under 2000-2006. Mods, can you move this please?

NNBS Brake upgrade and spare tire?

For those who have done the NNBS front brake upgrade, what did you do about the spare tire? Mine is a 16" rim and I don't believe that fits over the larger brakes. Does the NNBS spare tire fit under the NBS in the stock location?

    Auto Level Control Question

    Good to know! Thanks

    Auto Level Control Question

My '06 Suburban has Autoride and ALC. Is it possible to adjust the ALC to gain 1" additional ride height in the rear? Or should be looking at a 1-1.5" spacer on the rear springs? The truck sits perfectly level now but I'd like the rear just a tad higher.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Installed Weathertech front trays, new wiper blades front and rear. Optimistic for a wet winter in CA. I also replaced the brake master cylinder and performed a brake flush. I'm not sure the fluid was ever changed! I've never before seen brake fluid that dark and dirty.

What made you go with an SUV over a Truck?

I started out with a 2005 F150 Supercrew 2WD that had 33s (on 18x10 Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels) and a leveling kit. I used that to tow my track car. After awhile I wasn't racing any longer and decided to lower the truck. I put a camper shell on it but it never was perfect for hauling...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Its been a long time, but I thought CA law said that if no front license plate mounting points were present, you didn't need to have it on there. I could be wrong though, so don't quote me if you get pulled over! ;)

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I found this video on Youtube pretty helpful. The socket combination he used worked well for me. The hardest part was getting the wire off the plug. I used some long needle nose pliers and leveraged off of the exhaust manifold runner to pop it off. Here's the link to the video:

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My 6.0 has the square coils and the wires fit nicely. One could argue that #8 wire is a tad too long but its of no real concern, honestly. All the other wires fit great.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Replaced spark plugs and wires over the weekend. Installed NGK 7397 and Taylor Thundervolt 50s. The Taylor wires are thick, lots of silicone and they seem very well made. I have to say, getting the old plug wires off the spark plugs was the hardest part, they were stubborn. Stock wire on the...

    Newbie from SF Bay

That's correct. It also has the 6.0L and AWD from the Denali. I'm super happy with how it looks and drives. I want to change the fluid in the diffs and transfer case plus a general tune up (plugs, wires, coolant flush etc). I don't have any service history on it other than from the dealer I...

    Newbie from SF Bay

Hello all, I'm a first time Chevy owner! Bought an '06 Suburban LTZ to haul the wife, kids and dog around. It has 99k miles on it. I've had it about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it. Great truck! I've been wrenching on cars, mostly European makes, for a long time. I'm looking forward to...

    Remote start?

Thanks! I love the truck, it has more bells and whistles than my wife's '07 ML350. I was looking at the Yukon Xl Denali initially but was reading about the 2006 LTZ. I started searching and happened to find this one locally. Dumb luck really, and it turned out to be under 100k miles and clean. I...
