At what mileage do Tahoes start to see serious problems?

Ok, I have read all of the above. Rockola gives a little bit better empirical data, but let me give you a little bit more data to put it into perspective, because as everyone said, if the person beats the crap out of the vehicle, your gonna break stuff. These vehicles are pickup trucks with a...

Best tuner for 2004 chevy 8.1L?

This is like asking which is better, Ford or Chevy on a GMC site:-) I use In Tune i2. Reason I use this is because it holds 5 licenses, can put ford or dodge on it as well. Also lots of custom tunes, although GM does a nice job of maxing the tune out of their engines. So GM vehicles get the...

    BYE 5.3, HELLO 6.0

Ya know, I always wondered what an engine looked like. So, you like loud engines? Have you been educated with what happenes when you go from 5.3 to 6.0? You get the HP, but you pick up noise. A lot of noise. This is one loud ass engine, so if you put a K&N on, and it's still in the box...

6.0 Cold Air Is Way Too Loud At 75, How do you shut it up!

So here are the findings. it is Harmonics. Exhaust shop validated it. Told me 6.0's are the biggest problem. They put the Magnaflow 12x24 on, its the best they have before going back to stop. The good news is that the Voltech Cold Air with Scoop is the bomb. Accomplished fixing the noise...

Thinking about going back to a factory muffler

Went with Corsa. Also Changed Cold Air Intake to Voltech. Coolest set-up I have seen, it's a sealed system with forced air scoop. Voltech.com. Magnaflow could not shut it up.

Replace entire AirRide System or Convert to Passive?? - 2003 Denali

Nope, in fact they do not make the airbags for this suspension. It excludes the Z55 suspension. Coils are different. That is why it mades zero sense to convert to non-air ride when you can to the whole thing yourself for less than $500 and it's easy and the new shocks have a life time...

Replace entire AirRide System or Convert to Passive?? - 2003 Denali

Replace entire AirRide System or Convert to Passive?? - 2003 Denali

I did mine on jack stands. Wife would be pissed if It's now under $500 for new Compressor, whole thing and the premium shocks.

Replace entire AirRide System or Convert to Passive?? - 2003 Denali

Gentlemen, I have completed the process. I stayed with Air Ride because doing it yourself is a lot cheaper, and easier if you know where to go. The Compressor, I originally put in a Dorman at $218 from Amazon, it failed the first 13 seconds. Not kidding. I switched to the Arnott Compressor...

Why wont my Zerc Grease Fittings come out of my Ball Going?...yes I know it's pressed...but...

While getting rid of my front GM auto ride shocks, I noticed my Zirc on my ball joint top control arm was leaking out of the little ball. Further attempt to fix it made sure it had to be replaced. Normally you can screw these bad boys out and put a new one in. But it does not seem to be the...

6.0 Cold Air Is Way Too Loud At 75, How do you shut it up!

We will know soon enough, but the noise is not nearly as bad in the back seat as it is in the front seat.

6.0 Cold Air Is Way Too Loud At 75, How do you shut it up!

Problem Explained! Ok, while talking with Volant and a few others, and looking at my driving, the correlation was always around RPM's, not MPH. So to use one the terms described here, it was a loud Drone sound. Essentially what is happening that when you have a CAI and Tuned exhaust, at some...

Do you find it loud with the CAI? It's really bad around 70/75. Which CAI are you using?

6.0 Cold Air Is Way Too Loud At 75, How do you shut it up!

Interesting comments. K&N Cold Air, Conical goes into a K%N black plastic pipe. Straight to the TB. When I am driving 75, I have my foot on the gas, and its loud. If I go to 80, it quiets down. Talking with K&N and others, the 6.0 is a loud engine, which is why when you take the factory...

6.0 Cold Air Is Way Too Loud At 75, How do you shut it up!

Ok, I have visited this once before, but since then I have become more educated. As most of of you know, K&N owns AEM and Air Raid. The 6.0 is a really loud engine, which is why there is so many baffles and resonators on the stock. I removed the AEM because it was really super loud because of...

    Preparing to replace 4L60e myself.

I just faced this choice two months ago. Here are some things you need to think about that some people brought up. $1400 and you doing the work is not that great of a deal. A rebuilt transmission is what you get from everyone. Why? Because when they crack that case, there isn't a good part...
