    Welp broke something serious

Ok so all the repair shops in the area are 2+ weeks out. I can't wait that long. I was quoted $750 for just the basic diff install. My plan will be to tear it open on Tuesday, see if I can do the job myself. If I can't, I am just going to get a junkyard one to get it back running.

    Welp broke something serious

Ok so I got the parts ordered up here. But now I am reading it's an easy swap to the 14 bolt diffs. Did those come with 3.42s? And what vehicle can I get them out of?

    Welp broke something serious

Ok, I was just watching some youtube vids. It looks pretty simple to set the backlash properly with the dial indicator and shims. I'm not removing the pinion gear or anything, so I thought it could have been a DIY. If it needed new gears as well, I'll take it to a shop. I'm gonna pop the...

    Welp broke something serious

I knew my power was back! Feels like it gained 100 ft/lbs since I fixed the tune after the terrible track day. Once I fix this, 100% torque management going back in lol. I was running about 50% TM and 1-2 shift was about 200ms.

    Welp broke something serious

Ha it never ends lately. Fixed the motor problem... Now I got a driveline problem. Engine is feeling incredible since I fixed the tune, so I've been having some fun with it last couple days. On a 1-2 shift, I broke something. Something is seizing up intermittently, most notable around...

    Lifters, piston slap, or normal?

Yet another reason to get em out.

    Lifters, piston slap, or normal?

Thanks. The noise was from having too much lifter bore clearance. Likely the Morels have a bigger diameter than Johnson. The sluggishness I think was a fueling issue, not related to pushrod length. I changed some parameters in my tune and also filled with e-85 before racing and it felt like...

    Lifters, piston slap, or normal?

It's ripping again. I changed too many parameters before the track so I don't know what fixed the problem. Either pushrods, gas, or my tune. I had changed -Injection timing back to stock 5.3 settings -Got rid of the E47 mix -Shorter pushrods It was actually backfiring and stuttering at...

    2008 5.3L oil pressure

Oil is much thinner when warmed up, so if you had a real issue you'd most likely be seeing the opposite. Higher cold, much less warm.

    Lifters, piston slap, or normal?

Installed the 3/8, .025" shorter pushrods today after they finally arrived. Much snappier throttle, the stockers were likely not up to the task. It's 94 out today and truck feels itself again. Will see if I can get a 0-60 time Wednesday when its cooler out. If that goes well, I am gonna go...

    Lifters, piston slap, or normal?

Yeah it felt way slower than normal. 1st gear usually snaps me hard in the seat and it just kinda revved. The plugs were all good. I am going to check the y-pipe out, I bet there's a piece of RTV covering the cat. One good thing about the headers is the y-pipe takes like 5 minutes to get off.

    Lifters, piston slap, or normal?

So I got some 1/4 mile runs in Friday. Was about 90 degrees, pretty bad air. Was going 14.2 at 99.7 MPH all 4 runs. Full weight, full tank of gas. My 0-60 was only 6 seconds, so I was 7/10ths off my normal 0-60 times when it's like 60 out. If I was doing my normal 5.3 0-60 time, I feel...

    tahoe no oil pressure

Well it's from a salvage yard, they're typically tested before they sell them. I have a junkyard motor in mine and oil PSI is great. OP said he replaced oil pump, so I would bet the o-ring was pinched or the car version was used like you say.

    Lifters, piston slap, or normal?

Seriously. The whole point of doing the 6.2 over the blower was so I can get a newer engine in there. I am so relieved the money I spent wasn't wasted. I am going to the track Friday to get some times. Will race my friends 6.2 Raptor.
