I'm looking for someone tune my truck using HP Tuner, know of someone in Vegas or AZ? Or remote?
I have the interface and credits for my vehicle, just looking for someone knowledgable to iron out my idle and dial in my tune. Car runs and I've been dialing in the VVE table, but it does not like...
Order my kit at the end of September last year. Didn't get it until beginning of December I believe. Don't recall exact date. They were waiting on parts. I had a similar experience as far as the communication goes, same answer over and over again. The waiting around definitely sucked, but after...
It's not off the table, but I have other pressing to-do items so $45 would be well worth it to me. Based off internet pics I like the look of the police package arms. The stock ones look so dainty. A couple avalanche forum threads I've come across discuss it but don't go into detail.
Wiper arms on my tahoe are faded and peeling. Anyone have experience with the Dorman replacements? Reviews on Amazon are very mixed regarding fit and finish. Price from Rockauto including shiping is about half of OEM from GM Parts Direct. I'm purchasing some other items so I'd like to get...
Finished installing a BDS lift kit this past week. 4" in front and 3" in rear with 2.5 Fox DSC's in the front. Because of the vehicle's age, I ended up replacing additional suspension parts which prolonged completion. Only pieces that aren't new are the lower front arms, sway bars, track bar and...
Will be lifting my tahoe this week and planned to replace tie rods. Are there options I should consider besides Moog Problem Solvers?
I've done a few random searches and they seem to be a general go-to.
Swapped old "chrome" and body color handles for black. Slowly transitioning away from any chrome. Springs in the old handles were weak and the difference was noticeable. Also added sound deadener and insulation to every door while I was at it.
I currently have 3.73's and plan to upgrade to 4.30's this summer. With 33's rpms should be about 200 more vs stock at 70 mph. I pull a TT so I'm looking for more off the line oomph and greater hill climbing ability. Truck also has a TSP stage 1 cam.
Another vote PowerStop pads and rotors. I put them on my truck a year ago, and they've been great from a towing perspective. Whether it's pulling uhaul utility trailers or a 5k lb travel trailer there have been zero times I have felt let down. Love the fact that they don't rust as well.
Purchased Cardone HD axles and was able to swap the passenger over the weekend. They are almost identical except for the profile of the outboard side bell and boot material. Packaging on one unit wasn't great and I could see part of the axle through the box. Rock Auto shipped both axles in one...
Thanks. Ended up purchasing a couple units from rockauto, and they're arriving today. Had a friend who manages a dealership autoshop look into pricing for GM units and it was crazy high. For the price he recommended getting the cardone axles. If I have time today I'll try and at least swap...
That's what I thought as well. I could replace both axles twice and still be ahead. Still unsure of units from Cardone though, I'll probably just pick up Autozone since I'm not getting much traction with this thread. Plan is for a BDS 4" lift, so not quite as extreme as a 6" lift. Good idea...
Thanks. I saw Cardone units on RA and that's what prompted me to ask. The price difference is huge between those and a GM, which is to be expected. RA even has an "HD" unit from Cardone with a different boot. Part #661430HD. I'm most interested to hear about wear and tear on lifted applications...
07 Tahoe 4x4, previous owner leveled front and I plan to add a 4" lift in the near future. Passenger side outer CV boot split open, and I minimally need to replace. A GM outer boot costs $50. Truck has 160K miles on it so swapping the entire axle seems reasonable. A GM front axle is $280...
This is what I've come across while looking for hoods:
https://www.bmcextremecustoms.net/tahoehoods.html
https://www.cervinis.com/07-12tahoe-ram-air-hood.html
Pickings are very slim, with little variety. I've not heard of BMC before, but have previously purchased a Cervini's hood that fit great.
I was jonesing for that rack before I sold my 4runner. Unless they've changed the design (too lazy to look right now), the crossbars were extruded aluminum, side rails were flat metal and angle brackets were used for mounts. I plan to build something similar for my Tahoe when time allows.
