Swapped the alternator and compressor from the old engine for various reasons, bolted it all down and making some progress. In other news, I will do EVERYTHING in my power to make sure these dipstick tubes fit, I'll clearance the hood if I have to :Big Laugh:
Slow going at the moment but I'm...
Dont worry, it's coming. We moved it up towards the building because if it stayed where it was then it wouldn't get done, now I have to look at it all day so I'll be more inclined to work on it lol. If I can get the engine work done and hook some basic things up then maybe we can get it running...
So, you guys, we did it. The BBC is shoved in the Hoe and it fit oh so nice. Discovering some issues with driveshaft clearance due to the transmission sitting lower, but we're going to fabricate a bracket to drop the mount. Won't be long now before it's running.
Lifters, push rods, rockers, intake, everything cleaned and installed with fresh gaskets. Enjoy some reassembly pics for now. Next time you see this engine it will be slammed in a Hoe!
Out with the old... in with the new.
Diesel flushed the engine. Installing new lifters and reassembling the top end. Now if only I had someone to help install this bad mamma jamma.
Nope, sounds like where we are right now. Been a busy few days, I wish I had more time to spend on it. Just need to get an intake gasket set and put it back together. As soon as that's done, it will FINALLY be time to mount that hoe.
In other news, if someone just so happen to have a hydraulic...
So, not sure how this happened, but got some new ones soaking.
Now, what you wanna do is simmer your lifters until the bubbles stop, that's how you know they are done.
Well, got time to take the oil pan off. Had mixed emotions about the sludge at the bottom until Iooked up at the crank and saw it was immaculate inside the engine. We had a little bit of what seemed like water, but may have been separated oil from sitting for so long. Definitely going to prime...
Good to be here. Probably be pretty useful to be on here for the future too.
Here's another random picture of what's going in the Hoe, minus the trans parking brake, that's just there to keep fluid from draining all over.
