Wow I am surprised at how much this "simple" project is kicking my assets...
The pipe connections to the transmission are NOT the one bolt with an aluminum block that holds both tubes into the transmission...they are two separate tubes with the "horseshoe clip" and it does not look like I would...
>If you decide on the OE route:
1 Transmission Oil Cooler 20880895
1 Inlet Pipe 25999420
1 Outlet Pipe 15779543
1 Retainer 15049288
Can someone PLEASE zap over a picture of how this looks both from the grille side and the engine compartment side?
I received the above parts except the oil...
Today in Arizona the OAT was a cool 95 and I was towing my EMPTY car trailer and the engine was running warm and the transmission temp was 225 F so I am considering replacing the radiator.
The SUV has a new AC Delco radiator and when I installed it I noticed that the side tanks are reasonably...
>and just to clarify the OEM lines are steel. Aluminum would be fragile in that size.
THANKS for the clarification and keeping me honest.
So I have seen there is a transmission cooler that is mounted in front of the radiator and condenser on a bracket. T...
Thanks for the advice.
Using hard (aluminum) lines is better than rubber or PTFE because the aluminum acts like a supplemental radiator and dissipates heat while the fluid is flowing through the lines.
This is a similar question to my post on the ENGINE oil cooler retrofit...

I already tried to tighten up the two visible bolts but that did not...

I was hoping for a unit made specifically for this SUV but it does not look like there is one.
