Cut front bumpstops djm 3/5 drop question

Adjust the front height with the torsion screws. Do not cut the front bump stops. They are an integral part of how the front suspension works with our torsion bars. Which rear springs are you running? Mike

Tried some new wheels on 04 Denali

I'm right there with ya man. They're ok, but if I had to pay money for them I wouldn't pay too much IMO. Definitely better than most stock wheels but there are many aftermarket wheels I'd rather have than those. My .02 Mike

    Body/Paint Guys - Front Impact

My gal decided not to stop for the car in front of her and well, it was a low speed mild impact. Didn't set off the air bags but it did tweak the front bumper brackets so now the front bumper is tweaked upward (huge gap at the fender now). If you've ever seen a tahoe that's been mildly smacked...

Help Can't break hub from knuckle

Both of the lower balljoints on mine were a complete ***** to break loose. I bent both of my forged pickle forks and ended up buying a balljoint separator, in conjunction with my pickle fork to get them loose. An impact hammer might work for jarring it loose if you have air available. Good...

    Belltech 5305 Rear Coils-How Low?

Yes, right now the sway bar hangs about 1" below the center diff on the rearend. The 5x5 was the only material the fab shop had that would work but a 3x3 piece would work just fine for a 5" drop. But like I mentioned before as it is now it's still about 6-7" off the ground at the lowest point...

    Belltech 5305 Rear Coils-How Low?

OK here's a couple pics I snapped on my lunch break today. Please remember I built these on the road with limited tools at my parents house in Montana lol... You'll notice that the sway bar doesn't come anywhere close to making contact with anything. The bar hangs about 1" below the pumpkin on...

    5/6 Drop on 01 Yukon...installed and HAPPY.

Is that measurement with or without the flares though? From what I've seen, the flares account for about 3/8-1/2" when measuring from the ground to the lip. The trucks with flares will also "appear" lower because the gap from tire to lip is smaller given the exact same drop values. Mike

    Belltech 5305 Rear Coils-How Low?

I'll try to get some pics up of the spacers and that area. I made the swaybar spacers while visiting family in Montana with limited tools so they are kinda crude. Was going to make some better ones but these worked so well I kinda forgot about them. Mike

    Belltech 5305 Rear Coils-How Low?

I don't have the LCA relocation brackets but I custom made some spacers to get the sway bar mounts spaced away from the axle (swaybar ends are now parallel to the ground), so I don't think I would need to worry about swaybar contact. I've hit some pretty good speed humps here at full speed...

    Belltech 5305 Rear Coils-How Low?

I've got some Belltech 5305 coils in the back of my Tahoe and curious how low it can go if I cut out the dead coils? Right now it is sitting about 33.25 in back without the spacer. The front is at 32.25 but I just ordered some drop keys to compliment the drop arms that are on already. Just...

New Bilstein shocks at all 4 corners with 3/5.5

There is a good reason why GM (and others) trusts Bilstein. ;) They are a shock company with extensive R&D and racing background and their quality control is second to none. The same can not be said for other shocks. Mike

My Drop Experience - 2 Years Later

I've NEVER had good luck with Belltech shocks and I've tried them quite a bit over the last 20 years. I would never recomend them simply because they just don't seem to last IMO. Mike

5/6 drop. dont make a flip kit for my year?

I think you're in the wrong section bud, this is for 2000-2006 Tahoe/Suburban/Escalade etc... Is the rearend a coil spring or leaf spring setup? Mike

    Billsteins With DJM Arms?

Glad to hear they helped the ride. I think if I ever have these re-valved I'd go with about 20% more compression and 30% more rebound dampening. Mine still has a little bit of side to side (boat in the water feel) at highway speeds. The new rear Bilstiens really helped with that though. If...

    Billsteins With DJM Arms?

A shorter shock would be the better setup IMO. I would like to find this same Bilstien shock in a shorter version. Not sure if they make them though and haven't had much interest in researching it since I already had the shocks and the brackets. Mike

    Billsteins With DJM Arms?

Alex, here's the pics I made for the rear shocks. I started by cutting off the new relocation tabs from the DJM shock relocation brackets. Then I made the new tabs with several different hole locations for different shock lengths. Once those were made, I mocked them up to the bracket with...

    Billsteins With DJM Arms?

I didnt take any pics but they'll be coming off this weekend for a coat of paint. Wanted to make sure there wouldnt be any issues before painting them in case I had cut/ weld again lol... I made them with several different bolt hole locations so I could run just about any style/length of shocks...

    Billsteins With DJM Arms?

For the rear Bilstiens I got these: 24-143806, but I dont think they would work if you're really low in the back. At my ride height (in sig pic with Belltech 5305), the shock dimension sitting still was 17" without the DJM shock relocation brackets These Billstiens fully compressed were 16"...

    Billsteins With DJM Arms?

I'm loving the Bilstiens in the front with these DJM arms. Good control and not too stiff. When I first installed them I thought I'd like them to be a bit more firm, but now that I've got a couple thousand miles on them, I'm really enjoying the plush ride. :) Hoping to have some time to...
