Hello all,
I have about 210k miles on this 2003 Tahoe LT with the 5.3L engine. I have a hard shift from 1st to 2nd. There is a lot of info out there regarding this known issue that arises over time. But I am by no means understanding how these trannys work. I am going to drop the pan and...
I have the same vehicle. If you want to simply change the oil only. Drain and fill. If you want to change out the filter you will need to take the pan off and replace the gasket. On a side note: the filter is either a short neck or the long neck. Likely the long neck but someone here can...
Alright so I carefully and methodically attached the new connector with new wiring as well. I did this just in case I am wrong about my deductions noted above and there is in fact a break in the wiring I didn't see. Remember when you do this, the wiring colors are different on the connector...
So to bring some closure to this. Over the years I have had this "Reduced Engine Power" (REP) issue. So over the years I replaced the TB, the connector at the TB, foot pedal sensor, cleaned all the known ground problems, and pulled the TAC module connector to see if there was corrosion there...
You might want to check out this thread. I had one bad 706 . I replaced them both with the help of this crew here. Obtained the heads from... Chuck and Charlie ( his son )at Aluminum Head Rebuilders I used shaved 799's. Vehicle is running like new...
It is really hard to see a slight wiring disconnect. This is really tough. I haven't had this issue with this vehicle in many years. Suddenly it started again. I will dig around. By the way this is not the same vehicle that you helped me replace the cylinder heads. That one is still running...
Only happens at Idle speed or just as I come to a stop. I have wiggled all the pertinent wires and can't get it to repeat manually. I have replaced the TB connector and dealt with all the possible ground issues and just changed out the throttle body as well. Before throttle body replacement...
LOL I was doing a search on Google for seat air bags and install of seat air bags and this thread popped up. Just had to put a resistor in just yesterday so it was right up my alley. LOL Why not do a good deed. Merry Christmas!
This is a super old thread but to finish this off, you can put a 2.2 ohm resister on the ends of the yellow connector and that will solve the warning light issue. You will need to do this on both sides. I tested the ohm of the airbags and they were 4 0hms. I just had the 2.2 available and that...
This is almost always a ground or connection issue if you have changed out the throttle body and pedal sensor. First and foremost is that the throttle body needs to be ACDelco! 2nd is that be sure that the battery terminals are solid and tight. Wire brush these as well. 2nd, pigtail harness...
Hello all. I currently have the basic seat in my Z71. No Lumber and no heated seats. Only up and down and forward and back electric set up. Found some with lumbar and heated seats. ( my back cant take it unless I have some lumbar support ) Anyone have any idea how to wire up the heated seats...
Has anyone come up with a solution? Also guys the wiring between the accelerator sensor and throttle body sensor has to be flawless. Meaning, the slightest misconnection can cause the reduced power garbage. If you replace the harness, you really need to solder the connections between the...
Yikes, yes you are right. Things have definitely inflated. I now use ACDelco oil filter and penzoil ultra platinum. Total cost is $48.00 including tax plus of course my labor is very expensive. :)
Yes I did the entire thing myself and I think I am going to stop sending in samples until about a good 10k miles from now. Just going to change the oil more often for another year or so. Oil change costs me about 20 minutes and $35.00 at home.
Appreciate the feedback. Will consider things or just simply drive it. No issues at all at the moment. I replace the radiator and all cooling components roughly 5k miles ago. Plus oil sensor was replaced as well as all sensors including the knock sensors. Also I replaced the oil level...
Yep, SUV runs like a dream. I will just keep changing the oil more often. I don't care. You all know it takes 15 minutes to change the oil on these vehicles. Thanks Swathdiver.
Hello All!
It is now about 3500 miles since the replacement of cracked 706 heads to 799 heads. Here is the Blackstone numbers for 3 different oil changes. I did rapid changes to clear out any debris or remnants from the work I did. Notice copper is not good and likely rod bearing issues...
