I recently installed newer seats in my 2001 Tahoe. I believe they are from a 2003. The new passenger side seat doesn't have a connection for the airbag so I just left the plug coming out of the floor unhooked. Now the airbag light is on. Can just jump across the connections on the plug to make the light go off without damaging anything?

I actually just noticed that the drivers seat was only a dummy plug with no wires coming out of it so neither seat has airbags. Can I just jump both plugs coming out of the floor?

This is a super old thread but to finish this off, you can put a 2.2 ohm resister on the ends of the yellow connector and that will solve the warning light issue. You will need to do this on both sides. I tested the ohm of the airbags and they were 4 0hms. I just had the 2.2 available and that solved the problem. But likely 4 ohms is the sweet spot. Run a test on your old seat with a ohm meter.

LOL I was doing a search on Google for seat air bags and install of seat air bags and this thread popped up. Just had to put a resistor in just yesterday so it was right up my alley. LOL Why not do a good deed. Merry Christmas!
