Nice for a small puncture but a blow out, bead separation, sidewall damage...
Driving a 6000# SUV and wanting to shed 80# spare tire seems an unnecessary risk for such little gain.
Lower perch was removed from both. Swap them from your previous shocks. I needed them to preload my own struts to decrease downtime.
Brand new. From dealer. Never installed or fitted.
Online at $90 each.
I'll do $150 shipped CONUS.
Well.. strike... six?
Beautifully lined up ..at the top.
The bottom though.. rotated 90*. So close...
I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth... But I'm going to ask the guy .. who did it free of charge, good was of his heart... If he will fix them.
I ordered all new bolts and two new brackets. The brackets were cheap enough, mind as well... they may get tweaked during the process.
Those bolts are on there. Geesh. Almost $9 each, too, with a friendly discount.
I didn't think this bolt would be reused. I will order new bolts and just count on breaking them off.
My bushings are squished and in bad shape. I am really trying to refresh things up front.
Is there a captured nut holding the top of this bolt that fixes the shackle to the frame?
That little 10mm was on there good. I may need a breaker bar or let the M18 Fuel 1/2" impact loose on it??
I sent a private message prior to my post. Never heard back.
I had sent a message to Black Bear. They kindly ran the serial and responded to me and became a part of this thread thereafter.
I am thinking this is a dead deal.
I am already out $105 for a Bilstein 5100 and $40 for the GM Tech to do it on the side.
I need a way for this venture to pay for itself... and the next mods in mind.
How sure of the headliners being identical are you?
I have not looked too closely but my 2019 Tahoe, previous 2012 Tahoe and 2009 Suburban have some different headliners between new and old.
Wrapped up. Save for another day.
You can see a gap between the upper insulator and the too cap. That is because the fools did not even take notice there is a pocket for each stud head to sit in. It is clear as day. So if they would have put round peg in round hole there is only ONE way it...
I'm f'd . The project ain't finishing today. I need proper tools to see this job through. This time I'll hold their hand.
New headlights, new sway bar links .. not what I had planned. Maybe another 8 months til I get the time. Hate paying for a "pro" to do it.... I've seen their work many...
Yes, and these are Z71 springs (Moog replacement). So stiff, new springs. I do not feel confident with the AutoZone spoon spring compressors with this task. It's why I asked the "pros" to do this assembly for me.
First guy broke a Bilstein, sheared the top nut threaded rod right off .. second...
L and Middle look about same but are a bit off still.
Going to disconnect lca from spindle... And see if that extra wiggle room helps??
But still concerned of other side.
Of course every shop is closed. F M L
Only idea is to loosen top nut of shock... Will that rotate it??? I don't believe so.. the spring is pushing out and keep things locked in really short of loosening too much and the whole assembly kablooey.
