Wow... great build and amazing results! That is an incredible torque curve! I too am getting ready for a complete engine rebuild since I'm encroaching on 200k miles and will definitely be looking into something similar to your build. Definitely subscribed and look forward to seeing and hearing...
Any updates? My hat's off to you in your persistence in continuing to troubleshoot. I am hoping that you have resolved the issue and have just been too busy enjoying your vehicle as it should be to be posting on here.
That’s really interesting as I have the coil overs on my 08 Yukon Denali and have them set up at the max height and I am sitting at 30” off ground to fender. I can have mine go much lower, but I am maxed at going up and I am rubbing like crazy on my factory 20” wheels. Sorry to hear the...
I have gone through several different sets of aftermarket and OEM for brakes on my 08 Yukon. I went through 3 different sets of Power stop pads and rotors and kept warping the rotors. I have gone back to OEM pads and rotors and found my biggest bang for buck and changing in braking force was...
Any additional pics Wes? How are you liking them after having them on for awhile now? Still happy with the results in comparison against your previous HID setup?
I don't have any pictures that I can readily post up yet, but I'll do some digging and see if I can add them later. Not a ton of cars for me, I guess I have a problem with letting them go... I still have three of them.
1971 Chevelle (First car, inherited at age 3 from my grandmother. Daily...
If you plan on running factory length shocks in the rear it is. Otherwise you will want to run a shorter length shock to account for the amount of drop. That way you are staying in the "performance limits" of the shock and not at the max end of compression.
Mine is very similar... Granted only a 4" drop in the rear, but 3.5 in the front. I have no rub in the rear, but quite a bit up front when I am near full lock on left turns. Strangely enough though, I don't rub much at all on right turns...
That's a great idea... I had been looking for something to use with Bluetooth as my phone does not have a headphone jack. Recently I came across another option though, it is a small Bluetooth device that plugs into the aux-in jack on the head unit and I just have it auto-pair with my phone...
So this has been a very long time coming, I have been needing to do quite a bit of maintenance on my 08 Yukon in regards to the suspension due to being at 156k miles and never touching any of the components (aside from brakes). So, since it had to be done, why not upgrade!?!
Parts:
OEM front...
I've ran the Nitto 420's for a few years now and have been very happy with them, though I do only run them in the spring and summer. I have a set of Blizzaks that I have hard mounted on steelies for the winter.
I have black transit wheels with GMC center caps that I may be selling after this winter. They currently have a set of Blizzaks on them as my winter setup, but I am at the end of the life for the tires. I will probably be using my factory 20's for a new winter setup next year and then get a...
My recommendation would be to go for a retrofit. You can taylor it to what output you would like and will usually be safer with better beam pattern and output vs going with some of the aftermarket kits that state projectors, but are only for a halogen bulb. If you do put HID's into a halogen...
That looks fantastic! I hope to be posting mine up here soon as I am still collecting parts to do my major suspension upgrade, but will include the Belltech coilovers in front with drop spindles and full Spohn bar kit in rear and new sway bars front and rear. What is the name of the wheels...
Right on! I have a 72 that is in dire need of some love (which I plan on getting to some day). I am also partial to the 58 and 59 Apache Fleetside. Just love the look, whether fully restored or rockin' the patina, they all look great.
Looking forward to seeing pics of what you get next!
