Had a Vette with the same symptoms. Acted like it was demon possessed. Was the battery terminals. The slightest drop/variation in current can cause your computer(s) to misfire and strange ghostly things to start happening.
I live out in the boonies so if it is close to half way mark I fill up. Do not want to get caught with low/empty tank if something happens.
A few years ago some idiot drove his truck into the only bridge into town.
Everybody had to go the long way around for several weeks before it was fixed.
Baloney. I have Michelin LTX M/S2's on my Denali and they are great tires.
If they were all cracking and falling apart they wouldn't be so highly rated on Tirerack and other sites....and Michelin would be out of business.
I bought my 2010 Denali new when I lived in Southern California. Figured the resale value with AWD would be better but doubted I would need it.
Then I got caught in the snow/ice in Yosemite - pulled right out when others were slipping and sliding around; went down a dirt road in Northern...
2 or 3 years ago I asked the GMC dealer what would be the cost for setting up the second battery.
Labor, wiring, and battery were something like $900+.
Not a simple deal if done properly.
+1 for the Denali. In Oct moved from SoCal to Oregon just in time for record breaking lows and snow. AWD, heated seats and steering wheel, and the rest of the toys all got a good workout.
You should do a search on here about how lousy the GM Nav is. There's plenty of rants including one of mine over in General Discussion. I would go for a replacement that has Garmin Nav. Anything but GM - it will get you lost. Maybe the new ones are better but I have a 2010 and now use my Garmin...
Yes, but was hoping to avoid taking it into the dealer again....
Tried to take it in a couple of weeks ago and of course: (a) it was working perfectly, and (b) the radio guy wasn't in that day anyway.
Anybody else had this. Keeps flashing warnings about the disk, reboots, restarts. On occasion it completely loses it and the screen starts sliding sideways, backup camera quits working until I turn it completely off then on.
Have cleaned the disk - no improvement.
Anybody tried using a...
There's an expose on Jiffy Lube practically every 6 months. Rip off crooks lying to sell you something you don't need. And every time they promise they won't do it again. Don't know why anyone would go there and risk it.
If they spent the tens of millions to fix it ... it would still not be equal to Garmin. Why not just license Garmin and get out of the nav business entirely?
Answer... cost/benefit ...like everything they do. I read a couple of books about the development of the Corvette. They don't think that...
You are new to this forum. There have been many rants on here about what a lousy performer the GM nav unit is. The only people who defend them are the ones that have never tried something else... like a Garmin.
Perfect example: GM nav got me lost in Calgary, route looked like an...
Second that motion. My 2010 GM nav was/is so good at getting me lost I don't even use it anymore. Garmin is the only way to go. Lots of them have free updates for life.
This is beside the idiocy of having the screen at the bottom of the stack so you have to take your eyes off the road, lean...
3rd on either bad cables or they need to be cleaned and tightened. My Vette was acting very strangely, things would turn on and off, radio was inhabited by aliens. Thought the connections were tight but guess they weren't tight enough. Cleaned and really cranked them down and that fixed the...
