    BOLT Removal Help

next of kin....that's funny! SOOOOOOOOO, I literally tired everything in my tool arsenal (except for welding a nut to the top of the bolt, (I don't have a welder (although this would have been a good excuse to finally purchase one, and I am researching this purchase now, but I digress))...

    BOLT Removal Help

In searching for solutions, I found this recommendation on some other forum. http://www.storesonline.com/site/1320128/product/OTC5901 I have ordered one and will report my results/findings. What sucks is that I only have three bolts left until I finally get the carpet out and can start...

    BOLT Removal Help

I have 4 bolts that are stuck. They hold the seatbelts and the rear seat brackets. They are Torx-50 heads. The all move a little...but not much. I have snapped 3 torx bits already....tried wd-40, tapping, slowly turning in-out over and over...but no luck. I did successfully drill one out, but...

    The Winter Look... Yuck

Hey xBrandonX, Is your truck lifted/lowered at all??? Personally I think the tires fill the wheel wells really good. I ask because I am looking for wheel well fill similar to your first pic, so the lift/lowered aspect is especially important to me. MWNT

    Weird Voltage Issue

Follow-up... I did the Big 3 upgrade this weekend. I also included an upgrade to the charging wire from the alternator. Charging is identical, and most of the original issues remain. One thing I did notice is that there is an additional ground for the headlights(Source of a lot of voltage...

    Tahoeforums.com

Anyone have any problems registering to this site? I have tried several times on 3 different browsers and nothing. Everytime I try I get an image verification error from the server. I also can't send a request to them because it works on the same system as the BB and that's not working in the...

    Later model Tahoe Lettering

Finally got the letters in from zzpdecals. First impressions, I love em. Nearly if not exactly like OEM. They are plastic, but sound like metal. Individually packaged and the sticky tape on the back of each letter is positioned perfect. Good set of instructions blah blah blah... Here the...

    Fat Mat - Shout out!

    - I hope not. From my experience, a lot of the lasting power in these products is in the preparation of the surface before installation, the removal of air bubbles and general temperature during installation. A heat gun also works wonders when you need to stretch the material to fit a specific...

    Fat Mat - Shout out!

So I researched sound deadening material. In the past I have used Dynamat and Mastic sheets from McMaster-Carr and some other brand I can't remember the name of right now. This time around I chose Fat Mat. I got the 100sqft bulk pack. Arrived quick, with 2 rolls of mat material, a knife and a...

    Debadging & Polishing my 96'

So I am BENT right now. I put the stupid chrome trim back on the wheel wells to see how it would look after the de-badging. They weren't on long (2 weeks), but the damage is done. I took the trim off yesterday and every well has some minor scratches from the trim rubbing that wasn't there...

    Debadging & Polishing my 96'

Yea man, I know. I tossed them back on to see how it would look, and just haven't had the time to remove them.Even the wife said something to the effect of "that doesn't look so good", then I knew for sure that I was on the wrong path! LOL

    Later model Tahoe Lettering

I remember seeing a thread on here for a supplier that sells the chrome Tahoe emblems and letters. I did a search but for the life of me can't find the thread. I'm looking for the 08 and later Tahoe emblem. Would LMC be quality, or should a I really consider a different retailer for this...

    North to Alaska

Good luck, it sounds chilly! I watch a lot of Ice Road Truckers and I have respect for them, and you for moving. I would suspect that your fluids are gonna have to change. In cold climates you have to run a real this viscosity in Oil and Tranny fluid. I think gearcase oil is fine, but...

    Debadging & Polishing my 96'

I need to do updates here... I got the debadging and polishing completed some time ago, but I am stuck on the chrome trim around the wheels. I had the trim off for a while and it was growing on me, then I put them back on and I think it looks silly! Thoughts? (sorry for the crappy pic, the...

    KC Daylighter Mounting Options

That's interesting. If you happen to remember the members name, please post, I'd like to see that. I am contemplating fab'ing up something, I'll have to see once I get the lights. Honestly I am against drilling mainly because of the potential rusting that could happen over time. I guess If I...

    KC Daylighter Mounting Options

I will be looking to get 4 KC Daylighters for the front of my Tahoe. I don't plan on going with a Pushbar/GrillGuard because this won't go well with the "look" I am going for for my truck. Therefore, I am curious about other mounting options. How are some of you mounting these lights (or...

    barn doors with hatch

Chevy DID do this Barn Door/Tailgate Glass split on the Astro Vans in the late 90's. I too have been curious why they never extended this to the Full Size trucks of the day. Would have been a nice mix.

    Help with Wheels Choice

I am researching wheels. I have narrowed it to a specific style that both Pro Comp and Mickey Thompson offer. Ficticiously assuming that the specs are the same...which would you choose and why? Pro Comp http://www.4wheelparts.com/prodDetail.aspx?partNo=PXA1079-7938 Mickey Thompson...

    Debadging & Polishing my 96'

Hey all, sorry I haven't posted updates in a few days. I am in Cali visiting relatives. The drivers side came out really good, as did the barn doors. I actually still have the passenger side left to polish. I got a paint pen as well to help touch up some of the little dings. all much needed TLC.
