Blowing black smoke when flooring accelerator

I have something similar to this. It's not black smoke, but some black. It happens on WOT, at high RPM's. Picture launching out of a toll plaza and getting up to 70 ASAP. This is the ONLY time that I would get this condition, normal driving never. I have seen new cars do this as well under heavy...

    Idler Pulley Help...

Thanks Tripper. I was ultimately able to locate a new pulley and get it installed. I also picked up a new Serp Belt. This is the old pulley. It literally fell apart as I pulled out the bolt holding it together. I didn't lose any balls (lol) in the process, so I must have lost them out on...

I no longer trust my voltage gauge!

How many miles per gallon are you getting?

My last 3month avg with mixed driving was 14.1mpg. Highway I can pull 17.5mpg and town is most 13mpg. I have a CAI, shorty headers, BlackBear Tune and recent tune up. To the OP, you are getting really good numbers, or have an extremely light foot. You should try dropping the hammer a few times...

who can drift their hoe or yuk or esky?

There is an intersection on Rt46 in little ferry here in jersey that when it's wet, I totally drift my hoe on. It's dicey, but I can and do fully drift from center to right lane and back to center. I usually get to pull it off about once a month, but in the fall and spring I get a few more days...

I no longer trust my voltage gauge!

She reads great on the DVM, both off and at idle. It's just that I would REALLY like to get this accurate information while I am in the Cab driving. I think I am going to order a matching Excel Voltage gauge to my Tranny temp gauge and get them installed. I hate not having accurate information.

I no longer trust my voltage gauge!

We all have talked about the voltage gauge issues in the OBS trucks. Lots of things you can do to ensure the power is going to the right places, and I have done all of these. But i still have huge variations on the stick gauge. Has anyone added an aftermarket volt gauge and see a difference...

    howling noise coming from driveshaft?

I've had that same howling noise as described with the OP for about a year. Not getting any worse, but I finally noticed that the rear pinion seal was leaking. I am also due for U-joints and a rear fluid change. Saving for the parts now...but buying a house at the very moment and this is taking...

Any Sub box makers wanna make one for $$??

I have been debating this type of box as well, but on the driver side behind the tire carrier. I have an amp behind the the pass side molding so I don't want to move it. Fiberglas is fairly easy if you are handy. I have done a ton of it over the years. I am in no position right now to offer to...
