I was actually reading an oil consumption thread earlier and they suggested a catch can and eliminating the AFM through a tune. The afm is what controls the switch from 8 to 4 cylinders when driving under steady speeds?
Yea my plans are weekly monitoring or bi weekly depending then stretch it slowly if everything stays the same. The dip stick is burnt black so I believe the shop that was changing the oil hasn' really been changing the oil.
I just completed the oil change with cleaner and additive the original post used. I have better pressure than before but at idle it is slightly below 40 and under stress slightly above. Not sure what normal pressure would be.
I've been having oil pressure issues as well as a random stalling when cold. An old timer suggested a heavier weight oil to help with pressure? Anyone tried this? I plan to try the engine cleaner suggested and additive but am curious what the heavier weight would do. Does everyone run the...
