Very strange overheating problem last weekend

Had a very strange overheating problem when towing the race car trailer a week ago. First let me say that I've hauled the same trailer and race car all over the country and the water temp has never strayed from the 210 mark on the gauge. For the past several years I've also had a second...

Leaking Transmission lines to the radiator!

New line is $80? Plug and play. My lines are original- 6 years old, 93,000 miles- and no seepage at all. I would never hose clamp anything that's under pressure.

    high speed vibration, input needed

First place to start is balancing the tires. But watch them do the balance. Just because they get the machine to read all "zeros" doesn't mean it's round. I've seen horribly out of round tires "balanced" so it reads all zeros but the tire is still going to hop down the road. In the tire...

Brake pedal spongy after bleeding.. Am I missing something?

I use a Motive Power Bleeder for all my cars, pushing fluid from the top at 10 psi. Bleed the race car after every track weekend, and the Denali every year. Never had a spongy pedal issue, but I didn't open up the lines and introduce air into the system either

What are you guys running for brakes

Stoptech (now Centric) Powerslot slotted, cryo frozen rotors, Centric Fleet pads. Rotors have been on the Denali for 50,000 miles with zero issue, front pads lasted 40,000 miles, rears 30,000. Love the way the setup works when doing a panic stop from 75, but even more importantly how well the...

2007 GMC Denali stalls after towing

I would think it has to be fuel delivery related. You replaced the pump but have you checked fuel pressure both before towing and then again when you have the problem? And I'm gonna to out on a limb here.... as silly as it sounds, when you have this problem have you tried pulling the fuel...

Best for towing. 2500 6.0 vs Denali 6.2

I tow with several other friends to races, we're all towing about the same weight enclosed trailers. Friend 1 is pulling with a 2500 Suburban with 8.1L and 4 speed automatic. He gets better fuel economy than my 6.2 Denali. Plus with his 34 gallon tank he can go further on a tank. He gets 15-16...

OE Wheels replica wheels are horrible

After swapping summer Bridgestones with my winter Bridgestone snows twice a year I decided to get another set of wheels for the summer. Like the look of the Esky 22' multispoke wheels but don't want 22's so had my local Discount Tire manager order a set of OE Wheels replicas of that wheel in the...

Carrier bearing shot- swap to 3.73 gears while in there?

Well it looks like I've become victim to the carrier bearing failure at 90,000 miles in spite of having changed axle fluids with good Redline synthetic oil at 40,000 and 75,000 miles. I have a couple of choices since one of the products my company distributes are remanufactured front diffs...

Best for towing. 2500 6.0 vs Denali 6.2

I tow a 7,000 lb enclosed race car trailer and my '09 Denali 6.2 is marginal at best. The truck itself is an extremely stable platform even at 75 mph, I've never had to worry about sway or stability. But the engine struggles to pull the weight up grades here in the midwest. Half the time I'm...

    Factory Surround Sound

I've found surround only works on Sirius channels, and some FM channels. Maybe it's how the stations broadcast?? Just a guess.

where are wires for Electric Brake controller for trailer on NNBS?

Thanks for directly posting the links, I was on the iphone trying to reply. The under hood power is a piece of cake too. GM did make it pretty darn easy for us on this one. Don't forget the 20A circuit breaker to mount inline in the engine compartment too.

where are wires for Electric Brake controller for trailer on NNBS?

Some of the best towing installation videos are found at etrailer.com. They install everything they sell and have put a boatload of videos up on their website. Assuming your Tahoe has the factory towing package with the factory Class III receiver and 7-way plug, the wires for the brake...

Woohoo, the new Apple ios 8.2 works with steering wheel controls

Finally!! Apple got it's act together. Recall when I'd updated the ios for my iPhone 5S to ios 8.0 that all the steering wheel voice calling commands stopped working. My daughter's iP4 on older software and my old iP5 on ios 7.x all still worked just fine. Apple swore it wasn't their fault...

    Cabin Air Retrofit kit interest?

Made them all yesterday, shipped them all overnight. Didn't you all get yours today? Seriously, thanks for the feedback. Guess my Denali will become the company test mule again. Stay tuned.

    Cabin Air Retrofit kit interest?

Moderators- If this is against the rules, my apologies. In my business I manufacture and distribute cabin air filters as one of my product lines that I sell to large national distributors and retailers. And it bugs me that of the 4 street cars in my driveway, my Denali is the only one that...

    Drivers side motor mount replacement.

On my Denali with the 6.2 I had to replace both mounts. It was a $1200 job as I recall- the exhaust and crossmember all need to come down.

Apple IOS 8.1.2 and now the steering wheel controls don't work

Updated my iPhone 5S to IOS 8.1.2 and now the steering wheel controls don't work to make calls through voice prompts. My old iP5 still running to the old IOS7 works fine. If I press the call button on the wheel and say "call home" nothing happens, but my wife will answer the phone and can hear...

    Gotta Love Discount Tire

Discount, like many companies, is only as good as the store manager and how he trains his employees. Here in the Chicago suburbs we have a manager that opens new stores or fixes failing stores for Discount who has become a friend of many of us. He runs whatever store he's in like a professional...

Rear hatch is dangerous when it fails!

2 new Stabilus struts, still won't open. Guess I know what I'll be tearing apart this weekend.

Rear hatch is dangerous when it fails!

I've had SUV's and wagons since the early 70's and have never had a sudden failure like this. Struts usually go gradually. This was a loud bang and then slammed shut. I plan to try the struts but not optimistic that's the fix. But it's a quick 10 minute, $60 first shot. And I still need to...

Rear hatch is dangerous when it fails!

This past weekend my 12 yr old daughter pressed the release on the rear hatch to open the hatch on my Denali. Got about 2/3 of the way up and just as she was about to reach in for her soccer gear the hatch went bang and slammed down. She got her arm out just in time, if her hand had been there...

I'm the latest victim of busted engine mounts

Yes they addressed my problem, for $1200. I'm sure they're happy. I'm happy they fixed the problem, but not happy that this is the 2nd time I've had to replace mounts, this time at my expense.
