i ended up buying mine from eBay for $56 including shipping. The seller is Everett Chevrolet. I got the seal from RockAuto for $2.
What is this chatter about 2015’s having a different fitting? If that’s true then ill have to modify my valve in lieu of using this part. I’ll sell it to...
Picked mine up yesterday for $29k (92.5k miles). Thankfully the selling dealer (Jeep/Dodge) also owns a Chevrolet dealership. I asked them to give me a full service history for any dealer work and they emailed me a .pdf of all work performed at any GM dealer. It also included a list of any...
I did something similar with my Corolla. These are Hella 500 series housings ($50) and I installed Hella 130 watt bulbs in each ($12 pair). I wired them to activate automatically via relay when I trigger the high beam lamps. Insane brightness; I lit up an ELK with these on my way to work. These...
3M body panel adhesive (with the special gun) or just get a $20 tube of TigerSeal. You can use a regular caulk gun for that. I have both and use both for various things. The TigerSeal is a urethane adhesive and works great holding Lear “OEM” lookalike fender flares to my NNBS Tahoe after the 3M...
I installed a Tru-Cool trans cooler in my ‘09 Tahoe that includes a cold weather bypass valve. I’m curious if removing the K2’s thermostatic valve will cause the trans to run TOO cool for those in the North. For the trans to run efficiently it needs to be 170+ degrees F?
Is the shift kit worth...
I'm not trying to hijack this thread; I'm also very close to purchasing a very clean '15 Yukon XL SLE (with HD tow) that has 93k miles for $29k. I currently drive a '09 Tahoe LT2 that I also bought with 93k and it now has 166k. It has served me well but with three kids and long road trips...
I see that there are $350 to $400 kits that have high-pressure hoses with the proper fittings. I go to coldhose.com and see I can basically build the same set for $120 plus the $109 for a Chinese made crimper. Anyone actually do this? I bought mine with the rear AC lines already blocked off. I’m...
Yes there is a 12v hot and ground there. Use a multimeter and you can stick it in the rear of the connector. Start by doing a continuity check with body ground to find the ground wire in the harness; probably a black or brown wire. Then lol for a +12V accessory or constant depending on what you...
CRC Marine HD Corrosion Inhibitor is referred to as the preferred solution in many comparison tests. Can be had for about nine bucks a can if you buy it by the case. Stuff goes on as a thick liquid but dries hard.
I’d do this work in the summer when it is warm (regardless of what flavour you...
Trans cooler output AT at the trans is VERY tight due to the front driveshaft. I used the original fitting and used my brake flaring tool (bubble flare) to keep the hoses from slipping off.
To the guy who recommended a Chinese Tech 2: how is this done? I own a Tech 2 and did not see any option to do this.
To the OP: I’d consider HPTuners if you want a “one stop shop” to delete the AFM service electronically and to be able to make a custom tune yourself. You’ll need wideband O2...
I did an oil change a few days ago and emptied mine. I would guess that I have driven 500 miles since I last checked this. It is about 12 ounces. My commute is about ten minutes now and I use the remote start a lot.
I just did a GMTV and the offer wasn’t anything to complain about. They offered 22-24k for my fiancé’s ‘17 Wrangler Unlimited. I’m not insulted. Retail is $29-31k and Mannheim Market Report shows actual wholesale auction data for comparable Jeep’s going for $26-29k. I also ran queries for other...
You could get $25 on eBay for it. You’ll also need to replace the brass threaded freeze plug and lost coolant. It would be absolutely foolish to remove it. Not that hard to install. I did mine in my driveway. While I was there I drained, flushed, and replaced the coolant.
Come to think about it, I haven’t inspected the induction system for the milky emulsion since I’ve installed the catch can system. I get a ton of emulsion in the catch can though.
I’m not sure how that moisture laden emulsion gets there. Every time I’ve pulled my plastic intake off (5.3 and 4.8) I’ve seen a pool of the milky emulsion sitting in there.
Don’t forget to check your engine oil level after emptying the can. I suppose you could reuse the collected oil after letting the water settle out. I check mint every couple weeks in the winter and I get a ridiculous amount of oil and water collected.
